I figured there were 2 possibilities - or a combination of both: 1.) They were working on putting some "eye-candy" type polish on the rather plain Music and TV Apps and/or 2.) They were really trying this time to put out a dev beta that installed without a hitch on the majority of hardware in Userland.

I can't put my finger on it but this installation just has a more stable "feel" to it - things aren't hanging such as drives taking just a little too long to open or apps taking just a little too long to open. I detest the old "it's snappier" joke but in this case, it seems to be valid for once.

I'll be interested to see what folks report regarding their individual install times as opposed to B5.

Just throwing this out there, Firefox is still crashing hard on my machine. Getting ready to do a re-install of FF.

Sad day. I have to have Firefox to do work. Went back one version, and did a completely clean re-install of FF. Still crashing. Welp, this beta is done for me. Reported it all to Apple and Firefox.

Working fine for me, I didn't reinstall it.

Working for me. Don't give up. Download the Nightly version from here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/ as that's the version I use and it's working perfectly.

I assume your beta installed ok? It's 19A536g.

Great News - can't wait to try it out

Hope that Column browser in music is restored or an alternative is in the works?

Is there a FireFox fix?

Any idea what "shelves" are? in Music?

I assume by “shelves” they mean the wonky lyrics/up next display that occludes the artist/song/album views when toggled, but that doesnt make sense, since youve been able to scroll that since the first beta release

Installed public beta and all seems okay. I'll have to reboot and see if my eGPU will boot to login screen. Opened Music, TV, News and Podcast and all seem to open and function okay, from first glances. Firefox now opens (thank goodness). It does seem to be a bit quicker than last public beta.

does Lightroom work?
Yes, LightRoom works fine, as does Acrobat Pro. You just can't upgrade Acrobat, as the installer is still 32-bit.

The installer, and CC application for everything else is 64-bit though, and most other Adobe CC apps update just fine.

I still have no idea why Apple calls it TV since there is nothing "TV" about it. I was hoping with the TV app, I would be able to view content like I do on my Apple TV such as my Spectrum cable app. It makes about as much sense as it did for Apple to include movies and TV shows in iTunes.

Still staying away until Paragon releases an update to let me write to NTFS drives.

Is iCloud fixed finally? Last time I installed the beta, all of my files in iCloud showed up in finder with the lightning bolt or whatever the character was but never downloaded my files which I ended having to do manually.

It feels like it's getting there.

Current issues I still have:

- Archive Utility still crashing whenever a zip file is opened, and unzipping never completes. Can anyone else confirm - it's happening on both of the machines I have on the beta.

- Continuity / Handoff / App Watch unlock still not working on frontmost logged-in profile when using Fast User Switching ... but this has been a bug throughout High Sierra and Mojave too, with no indication when it will be fixed from Apple Support.

Fixed for me:

- Messages crashes
- Apple News not showing all content, with endless spinner
- Music navigation bugs, as mentioned in release notes.

... will add any other bugs I find
