Looks like Siri will be much more useful on the Desktop vs iOS device, and better than Cortana on Windows 10.

So assuming I don't care about nor ever use Siri for anything besides setting the alarm for 20 minutes before I take a nap on the couch, is there anything noteworthy about Sierra over El Capitan?
I might use Siri for fun occasionally but really don't count on it for daily use. I'm actually looking forward to the multi tabs for most applications and pop up videos (Most of time I try to avoid using third party apps for a small feature).
I just hope Sierra won't fix the "bug" that my 2014 MBP 15 is running too smooth. Almost all new OS fixes that bug.

Thanks, but I was looking for some feedback from folks that have actually used it, not a useless promo page from Apple.
Seems like the question was simply about what noteworthy things are part of macOS Sierra, which the Apple's page on macOS Sierra seems to mostly cover.
So, in other words, no. =)
In other words, as has always been the case, it's up to the individual to decide based on their own needs/wants/etc.

I had the same issue & found the necessary terminal command with a search online. Tried that & the update installed fine on my 2010 MBA. Am not used to Terminal but it was pretty easy. You'll need to enter your password in Terminal too.

PB5 appeared this morning & install started without problem, so you may not have any issue this time around.

1) Dear Macrumors, stop posting the same damn old video - update it with each beta with an overview of the changes instead of just posting it over and over and over and over again.

2) How are things regarding performance - OpenGL, Metal, etc? I understand about the great new features but I'm more concerned about under the hood improvements particularly around Safari.

Strange - I updated to the PB 5 but my build is still showing 16A284a. Can someone tell me what the latest PB number is?
Cheers

I asked Siri how I accessed Picture in Picture Multitasking. "Interesting Question" was Siri's reply. An interesting answer might have been of more use!

Mine has gone up to 16A294a

I can't remove this thing (airplay mirroring icon) from my menu bar (even when I uncheck the "Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available) while I have no other airplay device...
I've had that since dev beta 5, so annoying. Hasn't yet happened on beta 6 but have only booted twice. I find that checking the box and unchecking will get rid of it but still comes sometimes when you boot again.

I was using beta 5 but had an issue with safari crashing if I clicked in the address bar before the home page fully loaded, became annoying. Anyone have this issue and can confirm if it has been corrected in beta 6?

I'm not able to install DP 6 - I have it listed as an update in the Mac App Store, but when I press update all it does is say 0 bytes of 2.2GB and calculating - it never downloads. Any workaround?

You can pull it out of the menu bar while holding cmd. It should at least be gone until the next update then. I did this a while ago and it came back with this update. Now I removed it again and it seems also not to come back after rebooting.

This happened to me from DP 2 to DP 4 I think. The last time with DP 5 it did not even show anything. I just waited every time and suddenly my Mac rebooted and installed the update. DP 6 was the first update what installed normally.

Thanks, I'll just let it run and see if it installs. Thanks!

The most important thing for me is much improved network interaction, especially when connecting to Linux Samba but also Windows shares. I keep iTunes library on a network drive and on previous versions I had to connect before starting iTunes, but now it will mostly either connect automatically or be connected after a restart. It is still not perfect however but compared with 10.11 much improved.

Yes, this works now as usual.
