i had it installed it on my retina macbook 12 inch, the machine wouldn't wake from sleep when I closed the display. This was beta 1 or 2 has this been fixed>?

Hope it fixes the Mail process from going energy-draining crazy and making my MBP super hot.

Noticed that MS Word 2016 launches faster. Seems like as each beta comes out, MS Office 2016 is getting quicker. So far, Sierra is a lot faster than El Capitan for the MS Office 2016 suite. Using a 7200 rpm HD in my Mac Pro. It's getting close to parity for launch times between MS Office 2011/El Capitan and MS Office 2016/Sierra.

Hey lulla,

that was in most cases an error on your system not with the beta. duet display drivers or other external display drivers were the reason. after uninstalling those everything worked fine.

So assuming I don't care about nor ever use Siri for anything besides setting the alarm for 20 minutes before I take a nap on the couch, is there anything noteworthy about Sierra over El Capitan?

I think AI is the future and in about 10 years we would be controlling computers and gadgets only with our voices, and that is a good thing, right?

Sure, if your the only person within 20 feet of that device. Imagine if everyone on a crowded train were doing it, we'd all be sending messages we didn't know we'd sent to people we didn't know. Or worse, to ones we do.

Last time I've upgraded to El Capital on day one, I had nothing but trouble. I'll be waiting a few weeks after the release to pull the trigger... Should have listened to the advice of others, but that new shiny piece of software was too much to resist.

The Unlock With Apple Watch is gone (again) on my iMac. Does someone else have this problem?

Finished installing it on my MacBook now. It is not the most recent version that it downloaded. PB4 is build 16A286a. The build downloaded from the App Store was 16A284a. I don't know which version exactly that is. However PB5 is now available for download so it might be worth trying that.

OK, but at the very least it didn't download PB1.

EDIT: It threw me straight to Public Beta 5 and its downloading now!

Not sure why they make the Public Beta testers wait an extra day when iOS 10 is up for both developers and public beta testers.
Actually, they have released the Public Beta 5 together with Developers beta 6. I am in Australia at the moment, if that makes any difference.

Confirmed on a MacBook Pro 5,1. Which is unsupported.
iHeard™ a rumor that Siri uses new functions from the "old" Accelerate.framework (new functions include a software defined neural network).

The Terminator II wrote...
"In three years, Apple will become the largest supplier of military computer systems. All stealth bombers are upgraded with Apple computers, becoming fully unmanned. Afterwards, they fly with a perfect operational record. The Sirinet Funding Bill is passed. The system goes online August 4th, 2020. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Sirinet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug."

Siri is not limited to any specific Macs. It will run on any Mac running Sierra, even unsupported ones.
Just like Genisys. + ;)

had this problem with Beta 3, beta 4 and > have been fine for me with a Mac Book 12.

So, Um.. I haven't followed Sierra much since that malware Siri was mentioned.

Is the OS improved at all? Performance, etc? Anything for power users such as customisable spaces?

Or am I smoking the multicoloured pipe still & 'macOS' becoming a bloatware?

is this beta steady enough to run on my main device or should I wait? Please don't be smart and tell me this is a beta, just let me know how it stands for daily use

Thank you
How about the fact that at the time of that post no one really has had it even installed let alone used it for any meaningful amount of time to make a call like that?

And what "device" are we talking about here?
