Then why does it say "No Updates" available, even if I check 50 or 100 times, when some people on here are saying they've already got it up and running. What am I doing wrong?

You're doing nothing wrong. Updates never show up for every user at exactly the same time. But they do show up eventually. Give it a while. Maybe reboot just to kill some time.

My question is...are you all downloading the main installer again...or downloading a delta software update via the app store? My assumption is the "El Capitan Developer Beta" in the "App Store Purchases" is the DP1 release not DP6, and that is why I have been waiting for a software update, which mine shows none exist. That is why I am confused, bear with me. Thanks.

I found with each of the Beta's that the roll out is gradual. I know it's frustrating when you just want to update but give it half an hour and you'll be good to go :)

I like how some of you are getting annoyed with the frequent releases of this beta while others are getting mad that they usually don't come soon enough. Or how some of you get mad that things don't work... shouldn't you expect that from a beta release?

Maybe this installer file has to be copied to each account on the server and there are several hundred thousand developers, so the file copying takes time on the servers...

Interested to hear if this build fixes some of the Exchange mail.app and calendar issues that some of us enterprise users have been facing.

I just want a stable El Capitan that I am satisfied with, that I can start using as my daily system...for awhile it's just been experimental to check it out, so to say, but the last beta is pretty stable. I hope this one seals the deal.

I doubt it'd be anything involving specific accounts. It'll probably just be a case of the tens (or hundreds?) of load-balancing servers which form Apple's content delivery network all sync'ing up with the new content.

Which MBP model and is this an upgrade or clean install?

New Icon for General.
System Preferences is smooth and fast and the animations are much cleaner.

The is a new Wallpaper with El Capitan mountain. Cannot post now screenshot - I am on very slow internet.

What? You think plugins run on magical SteveDust without any code?

Uhm… no? Safari executes extensions itself at runtime. They’re based on HTML and JavaScript. They don’t run in separate processes that can crash on their own, like Flash, Java and Silverlight. If an extension crashes Safari then there is likely something wrong with Safari itself. Thus if disabling extensions altogether is necessary to prevent Safari from crashing at all, then Safari is not running all fine.

I am saying nobody has this beta 6 update because it's not even available to download on any of the registered developer channels and has not been released. Nobody has it!!!
I'm afraid you're wrong. I already downloaded and installed it on my 2013 rMBP. Sorry, bro.

Hopefully someone on better internet can post screen shots of the new icon and wallpaper.

If your El Capitan installation is experiencing crashes, just clean install the whole thing again. Because of a bug in the Apple installer, some files may not be checked for validity. This bug has been around since at least 10.7 but has yet to be fixed. It only seems to occur with installations over about 5GB in size.

Has anyone seen a bug with iCal not remembering it's window size after quitting? I have to manually resize it every time I launch it.

Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 works now, after the last update. Apple has released a new Java SE Runtime 6 for El Capitan which can be downloaded from Apple Support. To get Dreamweaver CS6 installer to work, you need to skip the extensions install. In DP4 and earlier, Dreamweaver CS6 would not work, because the latest runtime would not install on El Capitan.

Tried to update and when it restarted I am getting this on the screen. Any help?

I had to trash a couple prefs via Terminal, restart, then setup my defaults again...cleaned it right up:

$ rm com.apple.finder.plist
$ rm com.apple.sidebarlists.plist

The way I fixed was:

Preferences - "New Finder windows show:" to "documents" instead of "all my files", which only shows a search bar at the top and no way to enable the sidebar in "all my files" view.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but I'll report it to Apple.
