Where did you originally download your copy from, and did you update via Software Update? Are you an official registered Apple developer?

I updated thru the app store on my macbook. I have a late 2011 mbp. No I'm not a developer.

Ok - don't panic! This should be an easy fix.

The error's telling you the problem -- the VirtualBox kernel extensions are incompatible.

Turn off your mac, turn it back on. When you hear the startup chime, hold the SHIFT key to perform a safe boot (third-party kernel extensions won't be loaded).

Then, when you're in OS X, uninstall VirtualBox.

[EDIT: After that, it might be worth seeing if other VirtualBox users are having the same problem. It might be corrected in the next OS X beta, or it might need a VirtualBox update]

looks like the virtualbox kernel-extension doesn't work with this el capitan build. try booting into single-user-mode, remove the file, and you should be fine after a reboot

Wow, overall feels must faster. Using firefox and scrolling is better than before updating. And cut and paste works in terminal again. iTerm is a nice alternativ I used when cut-n-paste was not so must paste.

regards
Claus

I am trying to boot into safe mode. It went up to the user login screen I typed in my pass and it went back to the apple screen with the loading bar. Also I never use VirtualBox, nor know what it is, but I will try uninstalling if it boots. Thanks.

Safari has been fine here, the last update makes it very snappy. Turn off extensions, that's the most likely reason for crashes.

The only way Safari works well for me is with Ghostery, Clicktoflash, and adblock. Before adding these Safari was a dog.
Unfortunately Ghostery causes some sites not to work well and I have to disable it at times.

What I really want to see is an option to only delete history without deleting everything else.
I don't know why Apple went this route starting with Yosemite but it's ridiculous

I am trying the boot into safe mode now and its saying completing installation. I will try deleting when finished. Thank you.

Has anyone seen a bug with iCal not remembering it's window size after quitting? I have to manually resize it every time I launch it.

I have the same problem with my Safari window which I need to resize most of the time after a restart. Bug still there in beta 6.

They are in apple's developer forums. I'm not going to post it here though to avoid dramas with moderators.

Thanks Ty, it was your link I used last time that worked great, after my Software Update still did not show the update for over 12 hours...downloading this one now.

Try holding Shift just after you press Enter to confirm your password (as well as at the chime).

If that fails, you can as mentioned elsewhere boot into Single User mode by holding Cmd+S at the startup chime. That'll take you to a command prompt. From there, you may delete the VirtualBox kernel extensions (most likely under /Library/Extensions), but that'll need a bit of research if you're not familiar with the Unix command line.
