So when I burn you with fire and you say it hurts, than that's just an opinion? No matter how many people say the same, we will never know it for a fact, right? So the red woman in Game of Thrones can go on burning people, because death by fire is the purest death. Keep your subjective opinions about fire to yourself. It's all a matter of perspective for as long as I don't have to look at this ****** icon myself.
Your examples are adorable. Here on earth, "fact" means one thing, and "opinion" means another. Even when considering choices that may be universally accepted as inevitable or logical, THOSE TOO are subjective. Not objective. It doesn't matter how many people agree with an opinion, either - it doesn't morph into fact. (As ridiculous as your 'fire' analogy was, I can tell you that registering pain actually is subjective - it's why we healthcare professionals administer pain scales when dealing with patients. What IS for someone MAY NOT BE for someone else.)

Public betas never come out the same day as developer betas *eyeroll*

but why would they though?... there would be no benefit in being a paid developer if any Tom, Dick and Harry would get it for free at the same...(especially for those that are not really making apps...)

People use the developer account for far, far much more than just Betas ;P (I think you know this, but I got a good laugh out of "there would be no benefit to being a paid developer")

Anyone else unable to use wifi calling on AT&T after this update? I've tried toggling it on and off, can't get it back though.

Exactly. As it is, the PBs have typically been dropping the day after Developer builds. Anyone paying $99/yr just for 24-hr "priority" would just be sad.

While you keep repeating your opinion without even an attempt to justify it. The same way creationists deny evolution contrary to all evidence. Here on earth, your facts are just opinions to me. Nice, but that doesn't refute anything.
It doesn't matter how many people agree with an opinion, either - it doesn't morph into fact.
But it's not an opinion, it was a fact all along and that's why when you select a sufficiently diverse group of people, so that the influence of false opinions can be eliminated, it will yield the same results. And because it's science, it can be repeated with another group and yet another and will consistently deliver the same findings.

And yet Doctor House will think a patient is sick, if he doesn't feel any pain at all while his arm is burning in flames. Normal healthy people react the same way on a bad icon design. Some may scream more others less, but all feel the pain.

There is a Bluetooth bug. It doesn't display the device name. Also when on a call and another call is coming in, there is a glitch with where the contact photo blurs out the answer option.

Why don't my 6S Plus seem to get any of these over-the-air? Going from BETA1 to the BETA1-fix I had to do manually through iTunes, same for BETA2 and now it seems like I have to do it once more with BETA3.
You have to install the ota profile.

I'm going to be repetitive, since I've asked for this before: how about sharable notes between iCloud users. We can share reminders, calendars, photo albums, etc. I want notes too. Everyone I talk to agrees it would be a great idea.

I like the eye better. There, you found one :)
So that is taste, now back to facts about design. The eye can easily be mistaken for a lemon and the crescent moon that doubles as a retina reflection (if recognized at all) can be confused with the Do Not Disturb feature which uses the same moon, but works completely independent from Night Shift. For these reasons the bad icon is bad. Now you, why do like it better?

1. I haven't stated my opinion; I've posted definitions of words

2. FACTS don't require focus groups... period.
"The iPhone 6S comes in two sizes, 4.7" and 5.5"" - that's a fact.
"4.7" and 5.5" are the perfect (and only) sizes Apple should offer" - that's subjective, and could benefit from a focus group. Regardless of the results of that group, it's still a subjective endeavor. I work daily along the objective/subjective line - it can blur sometimes, but not where you're concerned. You're talking design - art, basically. Quite literally the poster child for subjectivity.

3. I have no idea what you're talking about. This is the 4th or 5th television reference you've made - perhaps that's part of the problem.

Anyway, let this thread get back on topic. Professionally speaking, though, you're... interesting.

How is the performance on the 6 Plus compared to 9.3 Beta 2?
Right now i have 9.3 Beta 1 because the second beta was super laggy .

Did you do a clean installation when you went back to 9.3 b1 or did you installed and restored a backup?

Hasn't happened to me.

Yeah, gee, why would both features feature the same moon?

Maybe because both are particularly relevant at night? Which is why both feature a night schedule?

, but works completely independent from Night Shift.

Hence there being two toggles.

The icon is fine.

Exactly. A lamp shade is arguably (read: OPINION) confusing, as it doesn't really relate to the functionality of Night Shift. An eye with a crescent moon correlates very well with a feature designed to warm colors to ease the strain on eyes at night. If anything, I'd rather they revamp the DND toggle - I use mine mostly during the day, anyway.

Of course, all of this is moot. Most of us understand the simple concept of "opinion vs. fact", so there's no point trying to convince this guy of anything. It's akin to playing checkers with a kid who's a.) colorblind, and b.) intent on playing Connect 4.

If you didn't tell me what the button did, I would assume the Lamp Icon had something to do with brightness. While Night Shift changes the hue of the display, I don't see the correlation. I think the new icon gives you the idea that the setting has some effect on your eyes, and so it makes sense to me.

I am not telling you that you are wrong, or that I am right. I don't have strong feelings one way or the other. These buttons could have no icon for all I care, as long as I know what they do. These are just my opinions.

Interested to hear an answer to this too. 9.3 Public Beta 2 has been horribly laggy and buggy for me on a 6 Plus.

So moon means night not sleep? With a bedside lamp it's obvious that this feature is meant for reading in bed while staying awake. Whereas I only don't want to be disturbed while I'm actually sleeping. It's not exactly the same and the bedside lamp nails the difference.
Which is why both feature a night schedule?
Not true. Do not disturb for me means from sunrise to noon when I sleep, the night is a very productive working period, that's what I like about Night Shift. And it's all about sunlight not moonlight.

So moon means night not sleep?

Moon means moon.

Guess what comes up over and over again when googling "night icon"? That's right: a crescent moon.

With a bedside lamp it's obvious that this feature is meant for reading in bed while staying awake.

I guess I've been using this feature all wrong, then. And so have Apple: neither of the apps shown on their Night Shift promo are about reading. They show someone browsing photos, and triaging e-mail.

Reading is absolutely a valid use case for Night Shift, but it's far from the only one, and it certainly isn't the one I personally care about.
