FWW it does not fix the dreadful trackpad issues (not receiving clicks etc...) :-/
Thanks for checking on that.

I'm staying on 12.0.1 for now.

When using the Finder just a few minutes ago to backup iPad/iPhone, it seemed like it was missing maybe up to 1/3 of the taps. It's getting old.

Beta 3 broke my external screen output on the M1 MBP…

Holy ****, they need to fix memory leaks bad. m1 iMac that force quits safari and pages every 2-3 hours is really starting to piss me off. I don't care how long it takes to get universal control anymore, just fix the goddamn memory leaks.
A useful article that discusses having many active tabs in tab groups show increased memory usage of Safari. This site always shows its consuming memory with its ads or other processing going on.

The memory leaks are INSANE. This stuff is too expensive. I dropped over 3.8K euro on this computer. A good chunk of that for RAM.

Basic system components leaking to this extent (controlcentre @14GB) is unacceptable. I’m blown away with how bad it is.
Still not fixed?

Maybe I am lucky but I haven't experienced any memory leaks on both my M1 iMac and my 14" M1 Pro MacBook Pro. Even when running tons of apps with multiple windows open everything works very fast and the processes seem to behave correctly, at least according to Activity Monitor.
I also have zero issues with Time Machine. It works.

Is it just me or these updates take forever to show up on M1 macs? On my intel Macs the update shows immediately, the M1’s haven’t found any update. This happens every updated.
Run a terminal and kill the update process. Then it suddenly starts to download. Happens every time and given up hope they will fix it

Is it possible to runBig Sur on 2021 M1 MBPro laptops?

Basic stuff like not being able to print is killing me.

Other annoyances - like randomly moving sound balance - are not what we pay the Apple premium for.

I would like to believe you but mine was using 86g yesterday and I have to kill it regularly. Things take ages to launch and considering returning it which is a shock to even me.

Just here to complain that we need the Watchdog Kernel Panic issues introduced with Big Sur (and not resolved with Monterey) to be fixed, as well. Yes, I have worked for hours and replaced machines with Apple, etc., on this issue so they are aware. They just let it all persist and it is infuriating. MacOS is way too buggy.

Even though I turned all notifications off on the Lock Screen, I'm still getting calls and sounds coming in when I'm not using the iMac M1. God I wish I stayed with Big Sur and never upgraded to this crap OS.

I am the same with both a 2021 24" 16 GB/1TB iMac and a 2021 16" M1 Max MBP. Is SSD swap being utilized a lot in memory pressure? Control Center I hardly use.

I'd like to see them pull another 10.6.
Just take a full update to do nothing but fix bugs, clean up code, do optimizations and refinements. Spend time tweaking and perfecting the already included tools. Not add anything that would take a very minimum amount of work to do. Just focus on the core OS itself and what's already included.
To be frank I'd really like to see MS do the exact same. Take a few update cycles to do NOTHING but fixing open bugs, cleaning up any code that needs it and spending time to re-write what needs to be. Just do what they can for 6mo-12mo focusing ONLY on bugs and performance. Don't add anything new. Just all hands-on deck to FIX.
Agreed. By doing this it would go a long way in restoring my confidence in Apple.

Apple is not being run by Tim Cook, it is being run by the advertising department. This is why they are , in my mind, going down the toilet at breakneck speed. At least they are where the Mac is concerned. Take back control Tim, Steve would never have let this happen.

Glad my M1 Max isn't arriving until end of month. Hopefully some of these serious bugs can be fixed before then! Maybe it would be better if they didn't insist on releasing new "major" OS versions every year. There was some pressure to do that long ago because you had to actually pay for "Mac OS" updates. Now I don't see why we can't go every other year which would force doing more bug fixes instead of "features".
