There is one thing i do every day with my S3.

Put a full battery inside and not be tied to the charger when its empty. £11 gives me a Samsung battery that i can charge while i use the other.

Removable storage and battery are 2 of the best things about not having an iPhone any more.

4.8" Screen is great for reading webpages and watching the odd video. Apps are so much better on a bigger screen.

I can watch flash video and the Google Maps app is 10x better than iOS has. In fact i dont miss anything i used to have on iOS.

Swiftkey 3 is 10x better than iOS stock keyboard your stuck with.
i am glad you have found a device that suits yours needs.

However, you are a minority and of the consumers using smartphones those using iOS are happier than those using Android - and that's a fact.

Ok you convinced me, I just ordered a Samsung S3.

No I'm kidding.

Apps on bigger screen = iPad

Battery life = iPhone 4 and even first iPhone still working fine, no need for replacement.
Even handset lifecycle is no longer than 2 years, caused by contract renewal, or is the S3 your last phone ever?

Read news = Laptop & iPad or even old school newspaper (you know these things made out of paper)

Flash Videos = streaming YouPorn on TV (bigger titties)

Maps = Navigationsystem in car

Keyboard = I don't participate at Facebook

So, leave it. It's just a phone - do calls...

So go buy a nokia 5110 - You dont need a smart phone.

He may not need one, but I certainly do. And for me (and most average consumers) iOS is the best operating system.

It has a level of seamlessness that is unparalleled by any other device at the moment.

Its like kindergarten...

Samsung is kind of like a kindergartener trying to play with and imitate the 'big kids'. They have a product in just about every single electronic based category. Honestly, if any one company (not limited to Apple) produces a successful product that alters that category Samsung is next in line with what looks oddly like the other companies product. They need to pick something and be good at it (And I hardly call an amazing product that was a literal copy and paste of another companies phone, being 'good' at something). they need to be more like Google, Apple, Microsoft, Steam, Beats, Dell etc.

why even buy a smartphone if you're just using it to do calls...unless you're just using as a fashion icon like 99% of the buyers.

I'm not wearing my phone around my neck. Believe me I saw a person who did.
I'm just saying that a smartphone isn't so smart.
The only thing you can do better with a phone than with any other device is making calls.
For any other task there are way better devices.

Come on, using my phone as a full media centre solution at home...
Customizing a smartphone, how far will you come...
Serious reading or writing, even on an iPad not as good as on a Laptop/Desktop, quicker yes but you need for browsing screen space to show all of the content in an appropriate letter size.

These features are just a nice to have but nothing more like toys if you want to take it serious.
I've heard a lot about that people won't hear what they have to do, but every OS has it's function which say to you what you can do or don't.
Also people who write that kind of stuff, like to be a rebel, cant afford apple solution, just giving back what they heard elsewhere or even just fighting for their device (replaceable thing / commodity).

If I see someone who write serious code on his phone in order to optimize it, we can talk about configuration. But changing only a color....

Apple a fashion icon, maybe for some people in the beginning as they were quite expensive and not so common. But today where is the difference? Nearly everybody has an iPhone, and those who did not have a HTC or Samsung solution with a similar design and price tag. Hard to see from some distance what kind of phone someone use, isn't it...
And is it important anyway..?

An iPhone because of it just works with no trouble, got a music player for listening on the go and an app where you can check your mails, all bounded into a compact nice design with value.
My media is in iTunes, so that's also a fine combination. There're also other good media solutions out there, but you now a migration whit quite a lot of content is not the evening task I'm looking for just because of maybe 1 better feature.

Go for another phone, no need, even if I don't use all of it's features.
Do you now someone who did, or did with his laptop/desktop?
They're only just a few features used by users on their demand and interest.

It's sad to see the trend that phones grow into mini tablets, especially with their screen size.
Why?
Try to use it with just 1 hand.
Or try to put it into your pocket whiteout letting it look like you have a boner;)
But you know what I mean..

Today I saw a girl whose phone was way bigger than their hand.
Looked like a Hobbit holding a human mug.
Maybe a S3, does it exist in white?

i remember when most average users had dumb phones and people claimed they dont need a smartphone.

Now those people who could only work a dumb phone are on here preaching to me about smartphones.

I have had 5 iPhones so please dont try and convince me of something i have used since the beginning.

Can you say that? my bet is no.

Didn't they already release the S3 which is a pretty much a kick-ass phone and isn't similar to the iphone?

And your point is?

Once again I reiterate, if there are better options out there why is it that consumer satisfaction is still the highest with iOS? None of you promoting android have been able to answer that.

Just because you have found something better for you doesn't mean it's better for everyone. Accept the fact that you're a minority and let others enjoy their ******. Maybe you're bitter because apple won't design devices for minority groups.

In any case, you're not convincing anyone with your dribble.

They better not try, 'cause that's what I'm replacing my iPhone 4 with!

S3 is a much better phone, in my opinion, than iPhone. It isn't Samsung's fault Apple is slacking!

Hated those comments but I am with you now - played with an S3 at the office and couldn't put it down - cant believe how many interesting features my 4S is lacking. I was annoyed back in the days how long it took Apple to implement simple copy/paste and custom ringtones, but the S3 has a lot more to give than just a few more features. My 4S contract runs for another 13 months so I couldn't upgrade to iPhone 5/6/Long/XL etc. this time around anyway - but I doubt I will be next year either.

The S3 comes here in the UK in black with 64GB so who knows what's available in a year - but one thing is for certain, it will take Apple a WHILE to catchup so I am certain I'll go S3.

ANY phone that comes out is better then the iPhone. The iPhone is a 2 year old design. You can't expect it to be up to par with modern phones.

It is a very good phone and if the Apple ecosystem didn't work so well for me I would highly consider getting one because of the added features over the iPhone.

However, there are many niggling issues I have with it but that's because it's running Android and Touchwiz. These two systems tend to overcomplicate things that should be simple or the integration of features are not as seamless as when Apple integrates something.

Overly simple is better than overly complicated.

Finally, Apple does not need to catch up to anything. The numbers show that they are producing the happiest customers of all the tech companies right now.

Looks like everyone else is playing catchup to me.

It's a 2 year old design not a 2 year old phone.

And if you ask me the iPhone 4 design is the best designed phone to date. The thing is just sexy.

The design is to my taste too. But sales figures proof that people get tired of it and go for other brands.

One thing that Apple really lacks is variety. One design for 2 years is not up to date.

Yeah need a new updated design now, but what sale figures are you talking about?

The 4S sales have only slowed because people are aware of a new model approaching. Before that the iPhone 4S was still selling like hotcakes!

OSX is a minority group. 9/10 use Windows. So i guess your argument is invalid.

On the customer satisfaction survey point - Simple minds are easily pleased.

I live on the cutting edge. iOS isnt.

Who's talking about OSX? Or Windows? This is an iOS forum, I'm talking about mobile devices. Therefore my point is valid.

You also responded to my argument by slandering the majority of phone users calling them simple minded. Being simple minded and wanting simplicity are two very different things.

You're so absorbed in your own reality that you can't see how iOS is an incredible mobile operating system. And beats the competition when satisfying the needs of the average consumer.

Gloat all you want but the numbers don't lie. Android is great but for most people iOS is better.

Zzzz... This thread is getting boring, with so many 'experts' like the be above.
The new iPhone will have a different aspect ratio, changing its design quite a bit.
Isn't that enough?
Or what are you waiting for? An egg shaped phone?

You said "Apple" not iOS

And yes the numbers dont lie. 65% Global smartphone market share = Android is the winner.

I have used iOS for 5 years so i know all about it and its like a kids toy with kids gloves on.

I don't think you have live enough to know what 'cutting edge' really is.

The fact that someone is using Windows doesn't mean they like it orbthy are satisfied with it. There are a lot of people using Windows PCs at work because they have no choice to use Mac, which is what they use personally.
And I know, and can't be a coincidence that most of my clients' users have Macs at home or are hoping to buy a Mac soon.

And I doubt Windows users have a higher customer satisfaction, when the fact is that they have to pay the big bucks to have their computers virus-free, optimized to run, etc.

I consider myself to be very satisfied with Windows: I am thankful to Windows' flaws for being my main source of income. :D Making an average of $200 per service call, I'm so happy with Windows, but I'm also a very happy Mac user.

i think i have lived enough to know whats what.

Windows runs 90% of the worlds computers and you think thats because people have no choice? Lol.

I have windows and OSX computers and i know why i use both OS's

I would never dream of having a OSX Desktop THEY SUCK. I have a MBP and a gaming PC because OSX gaming SUX!

I havnt had a virus on my PC for years, and last time i checked OSX wasnt immune either!

You sound like an out of date fanboy who hasnt kept up with the latest developments.

Ahhh here it is, the knee jerk defence that Android users always defer to "ohh but but Android has higher market share so it must be the best!" Let me burst that bubble for you too - market share has nothing to do with anything. Profit share is the main determinant of who's winning and Apple is making the most money from its smartphones compared to anyone and by a long shot.

So who's winning now?

Android only has a higher market share because you can buy them so cheap it's a joke and the same goes for Windows. It's a stretch to even call most Android phones smart phones.

You really shouldn't bash iPhones and their users when you obviously have no clue about what you're talking about.

Yes this thread is getting boring.

Too many arrogant people bashing Apple rather than giving credit for creating a device that suits the average consumer the best.

I'm tired of this. I don't need to defend Apple - their consistent success speaks louder than anything I can say.
