My 1st gen iPod broke back in 2007. I went ahead and ordered this one on impulse!
If it's a mistake I trust apple to refund my money.

Pretty sure they never did.Maybe that's how they "did it back then"![]()
Lemme just say, though: $130 for a 1st-gen 5GB model is like my first girlfriend--cute, but stupid.
HA! I could not have said it better. Cute but stupid, I actually am engaged to my first girlfriend! (after a 9 year hiatus and many other poor ladies on my partLemme just say, though: $130 for a 1st-gen 5GB model is like my first girlfriend--cute, but stupid.
New, in box, 5GB iPods go for around $300-$350 on eBay. So, it wouldn't be that stupid.
Looks real to me, but the rep indicated that FW might not work anymore. Imagine taking it in to the Genius Bar with it being under warranty!

I so want one... It would kick all other iPod butt at school, even the shiny new touches.![]()

I talked to Apple and they said "they are having issues with removing it", but no matter what, the order would not go through.this has to be a mistake, but I would have thought they'd have sorted it out far quicker.
ordered one.
As others have reported, my order status now lists a 10GB model, instead of 5GB... it will be interesting to see what happens.
I love that you can talk to 10 Apple chat reps and get 10 different answers about what is going on. Quality support right there.
Ordered, said 5 GB on the order (note, it does *NOT* say "refurbished" anywhere!) but when I went back to the Order Status, it says 10 GB refurb.
Dang, I wanted a 5 GB 'new-in-box'...
