Me + Krispy Kreme Donuts + Monster + iPad + Lawn chair = camping in front of AT&T... Since there is not a Apple store near. I am not waiting until July, I sold MY iPhone bought a POS phone so I need it... I wish I would have got the 3G iPad Right now... But I never thought AT&T and Apple would have problems on there biggest launch to date but then again that is the problem...

It's happened every year with the iPhone, thinking this year would be different is just plain silly.

$10 says the top story next Thursday is "Activation Issues for New iPhone"

how the hell Apple focusing on releasing new mac mini when there were so much problem on the hand.

people wasted so much time because of Apple and ATT

This might surprise you, but I suspect that they have different people working on the Mac Mini than working on iPhone sales and marketing.

I got my order in about 3 hours ago and it was still June 24!!! But no email yet, so hopefully that doesn't change. How long did it take you all to get your email to confirm it?

i got an email (for a reserve) about 5 mins after. granted i didnt get to do the 2nd phone

I tried all ****ing morning to preorder, but could not. Finally around 5PM today I put in an in store pickup request. I got the confirmation page, but i never got a confirmation email. I decided to try and preorder one about an hour ago and the preorder page said 6/24 ship date.

I got into checkout and it still said 6/24.

After i submitted the order the page then stated 7/2.

At no point during the order process was 7/2 mentioned. its only after i hit submit order, that i saw it. I cant even call apple support.

The order status page on apple.com won't load so i have no idea whats up with my delivery preorder or my in store pickup.

WTF?

This same freaking thing happened to me! After all day hitting refresh. WHAT THE HECK?!?

So on launch day is there going to be two lines? One for the walk-ins and one for pre-orders?

The only people who get 3G service and never have experienced a drop call are those who live right under an ATT tower.

Not true. The AT&T 3G issues are highly regional. In Austin, they're great except during South by Southwest, when we are flooded with iPhone users.

All of the carriers have significant issues in particular areas, but (surprisingly) overall AT&T 3G seems to be the best right now by independent surveys.

Devil's advocate

I don't think Apple expected to sell twice as many iPhones as the 3GS for the launch day.

mine is not a reserve so mabye thats why but idk, but w/e at least i know i got one, and have all the papers to prove it and my "thank you" page after i bought it said it would be here on june 24 so hopefully its not lying haha

I need to know because i have one reserved but also need to get another. (can i be in both lines?) . they did last year for the 3gs, at least at my store, but not for the 3G

Im walking into an apple store tomorrow and asking this. my friend just started working at :apple: the issues is he JUST started and wont be able to give me much insight.

Funny

Funny how now Apple's website says the Order Status online and on the phone are unavailable due to a "scheduled upgrade". Hmmm, and they picked today to upgrade the system? Somehow I doubt this.

ATT deserves all the hate they get thrown at the because every single thing about them SUCKS, period end of story.

The only people who get 3G service and never have experienced a drop call are those who live right under an ATT tower.

Their is simply no excuse, for bad service, bad networks, high prices, dropped calls.

Really these people ARE WROSE than BP. At least BP is making a very public effort to do the right thing as Tony Hayiord would say. ATT on the other hand and Apple should have released a statement to people telling them, giving them the courtesy of NOT wasting their time, all fraking day, and jts said, hey folks were overwhelmed, the response is more than we anticipated so were going to slow things down and ease up the system by tomorrow. SO check back tomorrow and order your dam phone and well do our best to get it to you sometime in the coming year!

Oh I hate these people. They are just not honest.

I agree with most of that, especially a public announcement/apology would've gone a long way. Just tired of folks blaming AT&T for everything, like Apple can't make a mistake. I still can't check my order status on the Apple Store and I had just as much trouble with their site as AT&T's. If it wasn't for a meeting I had today I could've ordered on AT&T's site on my first try.

Apple & AT&T, you gots some 'splainin' to do! Give us something...

iPhone to EVO and Droid Incredible: "How you like me now?"

Email confirmation says mine is to arrive on the 24th. Keeping the fingers crossed that it does.

Did you just equate a corporation that lied, cheated, cut corners and managed to wreck an ecosystem for god-knows how many years with two companies who sold out of stock for the first day for a highly anticipated product (and who can't make a high volume ordering system to save their lives) that minimally inconvenienced you for, at most, twelve hours?

You should hop over here to Cali Cali and take some of the local meds.

I tried through out the entire the day to pre-order, but with no success. Now i must wait until july 2, and now that I even try to pre-order for that date, Apple's website STILL tells me "We were unable to complete set up online." after selecting a data plan. (I am a current at&t customer and upgrading)
Since online pre-ordering won't seem to work no matter how many times i try, I am wondering if i should go to at&t on launch day? I live in a town of 50,000, what do you guys think?

Ordered several phones using same upgrade on apple.com! Received email notification 1 hour later. We'll see if they let me keep all 5!

Wondering If White iPhone 4s Will Be At Apple Stores On Launch Day

Great news. Glad to see sales going well, I just wish the white model was available for orders. I guess the goods news is that quality issues will be worked out by the time I get my order in.:D
Wondering when they will begin taking White orders.
ATT and apple stores still have a sh** load. i went to apple store last year for 3GS and was like the 80th person and they said they still had hundreds in stock.
Yes but will there be any White ones waiting unspoken for next Thursday morning?

I'm prepared to camp out for 2 days if there's any hope of getting a White 32 then. Anyone know one way of the other about availability of White 32s at launch in Apple Stores?

What I don't understand is if they are already backed up into July for delivery of Black iPhone 4s, why don't they start taking orders for White ones? I mean if we're fixated on getting a white one, like me, what's the problem with taking orders for White since we're willing to wait 'till hell freezes over to get that color?

Did something similar happen with the 3GS last year? Or did it take longer for the initial 3GS shipment and reservations to sell out?

If the iPhone 4 launch is this big, I may wait until the weekend to activate my iPhone 4 considering AT&T's activation servers may go nuclear from all the demand!

took a lot longer... they were still taking release day preorders a couple of days before....

Honestly. get in line. stores 7... get there between 5-6 and i bet you will get a phone. People should realize that tons of phones are being shipped... and tons are reserved... but its not good practice (professional practice) not to have in store stock. meaning the instore stock is separate from the rest of the crowd.

I reserved it at an apple store with the apple store app around noon, and received a conformation email about it. It'll still be there on the 24th, right? I'm leaving for england the next day...
Stan

Yes, I'm reposting this, but I didn't get an answer to my question and I'm NOT camping out for nothing. I have this conformation email:
