The current Mac Mini and (r)MBP have become rather outdated.
I feel that if Apple does not release new Haswell versions of the Mac Mini and (r)MBP soon, they may as well skip Haswell altogether: Broadwell should already become available in the first half of 2014. Th

Hopefully Apple will therefore show the Mac some love and attention next week. :)

...a lot to cover

I am hoping that this means some kind of magnetic keyboard cover :D

Unless the new iPad Mini really wows me I think I'll be getting a Nexus 7 after Christmas. The screen is incredible. I don't say this simply to troll, it would be my first Android device. My GF has the current iPad Mini.

After Christmas - because PS4 comes out in around 50 days :p

A lot to cover? Leaves coming out of an ass?
Keywords are STILL ALOT and COVER.

A lot means multiple product updates
Cover means smart covers
Still means a continuation from iPhone 5S announcement

I'd be pissed off if that were it :D:(
And I don't want updated smart covers!!! Unless there's a DJ Smart Cover and it can be used for other apps too?

Mmm... either they've made it harder to decipher or they getting more useless with their invites :D

Anyone thinking Iwatch? I don't really want one, but considering android now has one. Iwatch with M7?

Apple Sends Out Invitations for October 22 Media Event: 'We Still Have a Lot ...

Note to MacRumors editors:

The next iPad will most likely be the iPad 5th Gen. Apple stopped calling them iPad 2,3 etc a while back. So your "everything we know about the iPad 5" is actually not technically correct. You're giving info about a future iPad 5th gen. Maybe you should use the name that is mire likely to be used by Apple.

In my opinion
iPad (5th Gen) - Apple is very likely to use as a name.
iPad 5 - Apple is very unlikely to use as a name.

Lets not forget, the 3rd gen iPad they simply called "the new iPad" on stage at their keynote. iPad 3 or 3rd gen is what we all used to identify it.....if I'm not mistaken.

Supply chain rumors take much of the surprise out of iPad/iPhone side

It seems to me that while everyone can speculate to their heart's content on what is going to be in the iPad 5 and Mini2, over the past few announcement cycles for these products, the intense focus on the supply chain, which results in photos of backs, cameras, touch sensors, etc. removes much of the surprise on these products. How many real surprises have we seen when the dust settles?

For this round, the biggest question seems to be retina or not on Mini2, with the supply chain seeming to say "yes, but tight supply through the end of '13". There seems to be room for the touch sensor on the iPad5, but they can design for an option and decide late whether to incorporate it. The choice of which processor, RAM memory size - somewhat nits - become the big unknowns. I think these factors will ultimately be driven by their strategy to differentiate the iPad from the Mini - how much price difference do they want, and how many features do they need to reserve for the big brother to support that difference?

That said, it seems like there is far less supply chain leaks around the Mac product line. Has there been prototype cases, or anything else spilled around the MBP line? or even the new MacPro? Is this due to less interest and less digging by the iPress, or are they different suppliers with tighter lips?

It would seem there is more room for surprises on the Mac side, but Apple may not do anything with that.

we still have a lot to cover.

nice. i'm liking this tagline :D

Agreed. As in "a lot". Apple must be praying the ongoing shutdown will not lead us / turn into another global recession.

But then Apple finally accomplished a complete world domination at the time of last recession.

An iPhone 5_ whatever would shocked everyone!

Ask around on the board about how many people are waiting on the MBPR update since mid June.

At this point, it IS a holiday gift for many of us..

I understand that many people are. I also think this is primarily a consumer event focused on consumer products.

a lot to cover.

I understand that's one way to read the tagline. And you may be right. I think you're wrong.

Without digging thru this thread etc, do we have a comprehensive post / discussion here of the most plausibly list of iGadgets that Apple will cover in this event?

Is Apple planning to reinvent (aka without infringing Dyson patents) the vacuum cleaning industry too? Hehe :D
