A new ipad and the first AirPods update don't warrant stage time? I feel like AirPods 2 are one of the few things many of us are actually excited for. Or is it just me?

My current AirPods work just fine for the amount of time I use them. I wish they had rubber inserts but even if version 2 came with that I doubt I would run out and get them. I just sold my gen 3 iWatch on Friday. I wore it every day for 9 months. Took it off in 9/18 to go back to my G-Shock's and never went back.

Well let’s give them the benefit of the doubt, lol. It’s going to be awesome and amazing and... you’ll only see this coming from Apple and they’ve great stuff in the pipeline that will blow you away

Oh.
So a newly licensed Mickey Mouse Animoji that adapts to the HDR lighting situation better?

What would the new Apple TV deliver when Apple could launch a free app for that for all kinds of smart TVs? Make airplay 2 and HomeKit available for free across the board. No extra boxes or cables please... although Ive loves dongles :D

I thought this was already happening. (AirPlay 2 is software based now) and LG and others are going to ship with a Apple iTunes or whatever app???

IMHO this is a major moment for Apple.

Coming off of multiple quarters of Mac sales dropping ??? and iPhone sales dropping as well, because of price (iPhones) and dumb hardware decisions (MagSafe gone, lame keyboards, touchbar, dongle hell, and throttlegate).

If they roll out this new service and it becomes a flop.....aka HomePod take 2, I predict non-die hard Apple fans to start moving away from their products. Apple music has been successful because it is riding on the Apple hardware success and the fact that the only real competition is Spotify. I think the interface on Apple music is a disaster much like iTunes is today. The video subscription market is full of a good competition and will be a whole different game.

Personally I have zero plans to ever buy a Mac again. I will purchase a new iPhone because it is the better of two not so fantastic choices.
And everyone is telling that Macs are relics from the past and everybody is moving from desktops to mobile and tablets. Sure, if you don’t upgrade your computer business and selling ancient hardware as they were new, I could also plot a graph showing you the suspected results as evidence

Why the hell does Apple only always offer a 1-event ics calendar file? Why don't they have have a full calendar subscription, with all events, special events, education, WWDC? I always have to go to that event page on the Apple site & add the ics manually. Doing it only once & getting automatic updates for new events would be much better.

PS: maybe there's a third-party subscription somewhere… anyone know? Thx.

So is this a Netflix clone or a Cable TV replacement? I've been thinking of dropping my cable and going the YouTube TV route but might hold out for this instead.

Actually I moved to Windows on a ThinkPad. My 2017 15inch Macbook Pro that cost me 3K plus $200 in dongles gets used less and less. The ThinkPad T580 is a dream to type on and loaded with the same basic hardware was at least $1000 less.

You will end up on YouTube TV.

Whether it is Apples negotiating tactics or just the general history in working with (or trying to) media companies… It would be absolutely stunning to see them actually have a channel lineup for a live TV service that rivals any of the other offerings.

Nobody ever wants to work with them and even those that do always are turned off by Apple’s tactics and the unreasonable cut they always demand from everything

This should have been done years ago when they neglected their AppleTV. It’s too little to late imo. There is already too much competition from well established players. And we all know how well Apple is able to compete in fast evolving markets

Probably. HBO has shown how to do serious but graphic TV shows that get both critical and popular acclaim.

I doubt Apple have the same courage.
Yeah, e.g. like GOT. we saw guys having sex and girls wiping cum of their lips, incest, people getting burned, headed and hanged. Bowels falling out of their bodies, etc.

Apple would never have the courage to create something nearly like GOT, Breaking Bad, el Chapo, TWD, etc, . Their series will be low level.

Apple is too conservative to succeed in the video streaming industry. They need few brutal and series with sexual scenes. They won’t allow this, and this strict conservative attitude will lead to failure.

I don’t know what you’re watching but there are plenty of modern successful shows without sex scenes and brutal violence. If Disney can launch an entire susbscriptiom service for which we’ve already seen a lot of interest, then Apple will have no issue staying at or below that bar.

“Mickey learns to code on iPad Pro!”

Is there a reason why there is just two weeks notice?? Do the attendees not have busy schedules, and can easily clear the date (plus travel days)?? I do not see how giving a few more weeks of notice would compromise anything. Thx.
Well... the "media" that Apple invites... Rene Ritchie, Jason Snell and the likes will travel within 24 hours for the announcement of Apple socks.

I bought the 2017 27” iMac for home use and I’ve the iMac pro at work. Both will probably be my last Apple computers because both have been the most problematic machines I’ve ever had. Windows has evolved much harder as MacOS did since 2012. iOS is a joke for real work. So I’m out of options.

Not holding out for the new "Pro" :)

Nothing special just GOT TWD Punisher DareDevil, etc. Disney? lol a very successful subscription service. I have kids and don’t know anybody with kids that subscribed to their service. And by looking from a non-american point of view it’s a total failure.
