You knew it wouldn't take long: For those seriously interested in protecting their precious Apple Card, the folks at the iGeek blog have posted the "Best Apple Card Wallets: Card Holder Cases to Protect Your Titanium Card"

The best options have a center pocket where some might put cash, but it is perfectly lined with fabric (not leather) and keeps the card from ever coming into contact with other cards that could potentially scratch the coating of the Apple Card.

This shows the distain Apple has for customers. It shows whay many have suspected for a long time. Apple thinks it's customers are thick morons. You are there purely to be milked dry, and sadly plenty seem oblivious to it.

As someone who doesn't give a rat's bottom about having the card, I would have thought it would be a chip and pin card. So none of this "cleaning" is required anyway.

I think this is all a bit silly and will seriously consider non-Apple devices in future. Only privacy keeps me with Apple. But it is a company that is moving more and more towards services, hardware design is becoming more and more hectic, with design moving away from what made Apple great. Just because the company can create a product (if you can call a 50 year old idea a product), doesn't mean it should. The Apple Card is not innovative. It is a joke. Apple will carry on, it has plenty of customers. But I doubt I will be one of them.

You know what. I usually do not have any cards with me. Not even a wallet anymore. This whole card thing is so 1990’s.

Wonder if it has witten "Designed by Apple in California" on the back, and how soon they will start suing other cards for copying their design.

This is too funny, it's turning into an April Fools' prank.

What are we supposed to use to store the card? Microfiber-lined wallet pockets will likely become an issue if there's any static involved, as goes for wool or any similar fabric; otherwise woven fabric may work as long as it's not too stiff (like nylon would probably end up scratching the card).

If anything, there's definitely a market opening for that now.

You realize that the joke is on users.... it just shows how "adept" they are :D.

Now the question is "will it b(l)end"?

I mean it will def come with a small curve right out of the box, but they will tell you it's "within specs".

Also wait for the OCDs to kick in and be like, my card was scratched right out of the box, am I within the 15 days return will Apple exchange it?

EDIT:
Hey Apple why not offer a replacement card in case "accidental damage" occurs, you know like a 49$ fee exchange.... You can call it "Apple Care"....revolutionary!
Water damage not covered.

You're swiping it wrong.
You're also putting it in your wallet wrong, touching it wrong cleaning it wrong and putting it in your pocket wrong. Talk about form over function. I wonder when the drop tests will start on YouTube or JerryRigEverything sees if he can snap it in two. Its just a credit card for crying out loud. The card is designed to be used not held in a glass case sitting safely on some Aerogel so its safe from being demagnetized or stained or scratched and god forbid some debt laden credit card hater decides to attack it with a can of compressed air!

I actually cant think of anything more apple like than making something that doesn't actually work properly with what everybody else considers to be normal.. denim and leather!!! haha.. Surely this is an inside joke??

Don't worry, Apple Card V2 will be universal and "Denim compatible™" don't you know always skip 1st gen? They will discontinue V1 / make it slow with a SW update (CardOS) :D.

Wonder if V2 (now you can spend your money 2x as fast) will also have a larger chip ...

I think Apple needs to reign in this nonsense before they repeat their downfall in the 90s, this time with the dubious ‘services’...

Is this a joke? How to maintain credit card ? Just put it in your wallet ffs

Just checked my plastic cards that I keep in my wallet, mostly.

Many had some glue-ish gunk on them (from the wallet apparently), black marks consistent with the insertion direction into a chip reader, discolouration and scratches.

And the cards haven’t even been used a lot, thanks to Apple Pay.

So...why is this news? Blue denim stains everything and leather is also bound to leave a mark on many materials in prolonged contact.

“Bad” Apple news drive traffic it seems.

"Apple warns you may permanently discolor your Apple Card if it’s stored in leather "..

You have got to be kidding me...What are wallets usually made out of?

How do you expect them to sell you a new wallet? Wallets are the new dongles!
