This card isn't even UL-listed, I would never put it in my leather wallet and carry it in my jeans. :D

Maybe I could get the type of case that NASA uses to store moon rocks?

I am waiting for my officially licensed Apple Silicone card case to properly protect my new credit card. After all, I'd rather not spend the extra $$ on Applecare for it.

Perhaps when I travel near the water, I'll get a Lifeproof case for it. ;)

Thought we were supposed to be using “card less” ecosystems like NFC and Apple Pay. Now all this hype over a physical card. Another notch lower we go...
Where is the hype over a physical card? This is absolutely the definition of a slow news day. Apple has these articles for basically every product they make. I’m sure it’s a legal thing.

This is almost a joke . . . to say it shouldn't come in contact with leather?

I would wager the majority of wallets are leather.

With Goldman Sachs as the bank and MasterCard as the creditor, Apple's job was to bring fashion to the table. Which they said they were:

LOL.

Classic Apple.

:apple:

ApplePants, AppleWallet, ApplePurse, AppleAppleApple!!!
The funny thing is that I finally ditched my wallet last year as all my cards are digital apart from 3 which are kept in my iPhone case. Wallets are a thing of the past, but for some reason Apple wants everyone to take a step backwards and get wallets again?
It's time for people to go fully digital so ditch your wallet, ditch your purse .... but maybe not ditch your pants. :p

It’s a credit card FFS. I can’t wait for the first post ‘Just scratched my Apple Card! How do I go on with my life?’ Are they going to make cases now? Who will be the first idiot to buy a case for their Apple Card?

Good ****ing grief GET OVER IT.

Is this card actually white in person, or is that just some reflective angle in photos? I would expect a titanium card to look mostly silver.

Why is it a legal thing for cleaning your credit card? I don’t recall other credit card companies releasing a video about keeping your credit card appearance pristine.

I think this exemplifies how much Apple values physical aesthetics of its products even if it’s ridiculous

Don't worry, Apple Card V2 will be universal and "Denim compatible™" don't you know always skip 1st gen? They will discontinue V1 / make it slow with a SW update (CardOS) :D.

Wonder if V2 (now you can spend your money 2x as fast) will also have a larger chip ...
Time to start ‘ Waiting for 2020 card’ thread

Just checked my plastic cards that I keep in my wallet, mostly.

Many had some glue-ish gunk on them (from the wallet apparently), black marks consistent with the insertion direction into a chip reader, discolouration and scratches.

And the cards haven’t even been used a lot, thanks to Apple Pay.

So...why is this news? Blue denim stains everything and leather is also bound to leave a mark on many materials in prolonged contact.

“Bad” Apple news drive traffic it seems.

Honestly credit cards are pretty dirty. You hand them to people. They sit on wet bar counter tops. People cut up drugs with them and insert them into the same card readers that your cards go into.

Every now and then I wipe my cards down and I use a wallet that zips around so that nothing gets into it while it’s in my pocket or bag.

It’s white. Some angles it looks off-white, but yeah it’s white.

And you did all that without a guide? Wow you must be a genius.

P.S. it is not against you, just pointing out that as you do, so do many people, and there's no need a guide for that.

What's next, they will tell poeple to clean their behinds? some might need it
