Read Wool a few years ago, thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't recall enough to know with certainty what small details changed (also too afraid to reread it), but I too am disappointed they strung out the first season. I feel like... well the second half of the book was way more interesting to me, but I get that would limit some of their directorial choices. I do think it's been well done, and if not accurate has at least attempted to keep to the spirit of the first book.

I've watched a lot of the sci-fi or dystopian type shows on AppleTV (like Foundation, Severance, etc) and Silo so far is my favorite. And that's saying a lot since I thought Severance was excellent!

Each episode is very well thought out and the character development and acting is fantastic.

HIGHLY recommended.

I really enjoyed the first episode. After that, it got really boring and didn’t move at all. It reminds me of under the dome. I watched it for the whole season, and nothing really happened. I understand a lot of people think it’s a really great show, and that’s great, but I just don’t understand why.

I see a lot of love for Silo here but I really lost interest as it’s nothing like the book it is based upon. Also they are stringing it out……….. ( yawn!! )
I agree with you 100%. It’s like watching a soap opera. You could go away for 10 years and come back and nothing will have happened. I do not enjoy TV like that. Unfortunately, it seems to be what everyone else likes, but that’s another story. I’ll stick with the stuff that I like and skip the crap.

LOVE this show. Between this, Foundation, and Invasion, I have been thoroughly impressed with the quality of the TV shows on offer. Haven't read any of the books, so I have no reason to compare or hate on the shows. Production values, cinematography, and acting are all on point.

What’s the problem with AppleTV+? For mediocre Sci-Fi stories like “For All Mankind” and “Silo”, it can depicts it extremely well, but, for real masterpieces like “Foundation”, it simply ruins it into sh*t?!!!
I love Foundation. It's a great series and I'm looking forward to the 2nd season. Silo is also great. Why do I like them? Because I refuse to read the books when I know they're going to be made into a movie or series. I go into them with zero expectations and then I'm not disappointed. I also don't turn around and then read the books afterwards. For the same reason.

On the flip side, if I've read a book, I won't watch any movie or series based on it. Not unless decades have passed since I read it. I read both LotR and Dune back in the 70s, so when they were adapted into movies by P Jackson and then Dune just 2 years ago, I loved them both. I didn't see the Dune in the 1980s. Also, I ABHOR people that do the lame "the book was better" or other nonsense. I notice that people that read a book before watching a movie or show just sit there with a scorecard or something. They just wait to see who plays which character so they can go "Oh, I didn't picture that person playing that character. Why did they make that one into a woman?" or whatever.

Just keep your scorecards to yourselves.

To promote the finale of popular Apple TV+ science fiction series Silo, Apple today shared the full first episode of the series on Twitter.

Taking advantage of the Twitter functionality that allows for longer form video, Apple shared the hour-long episode through its Apple TV+ account. The episode can be watched directly on Twitter, with no Apple TV+ subscription required.

The first episode of the show is also available on the Apple TV+ website and through Apple TV+ apps for those who don't subscribe, but a subscription is required to watch all subsequent episodes.

Silo is one of the latest Apple TV+ shows, and it is based on the "Wool" novel by Hugh Howey. The show stars Juliette as the "sheriff" of an underground silo, focusing on her efforts to uncover the secrets of the silo and what's going on at the surface.

Silo's 10th episode and season finale is set to premiere on Friday, June 30. The show quickly became one of the most popular offerings on Apple TV+ following its launch, and it has received positive reviews from fans and critics.

Part of me thinks that they should have marketed Drops Of God like this .... but considering it was a show with some subtitles it probably would not have made much difference. Drops Of God is the best show on Apple TV ever (yes better than Silo, Slow Horses, Bad Sisters, Black Bird, Severance etc.). It was brilliant. In fact, I would say the only show to match it this year was the 4th season of Succession.

It's so disappointing that so many people refuse to watch it because of the subtitles.

Invasion? The worst Apple TV show by far and one of the worst shows I have ever seen. It was awful.

Another mediocre Apple TV show. The sets feel like a studio. I've never bought that these people are actually in an underground Silo. Common is a terrible actor. No range. It feels like he's reading his lines from a teleprompter. I'm really hoping for an interesting twist in the finale, but so far the story has been utterly predictable.

I started reading Wool, but stopped. I’m just not a dystopian fiction or horror kind of guy. I’m thrilled that the second season of Foundation is coming up mid next month. 👍🏻
Let's just hope the second season isn't another boring disjointed mess with flat, predictable characters and uninspiring storylines.

100% agree. This show should've been 3 seasons long with each season covering one book. The changes and filler content they added to make this a long running series are really, really bad. Hate to be one of those people but the book series was near perfect -- the show feels like a melodramatic soap opera made for teens.

This is a smart promo. With attention spans shortening at a breakneck pace, I love the irony of using the ultimate shiny object social media platform to draw people to a longer, more contemplative type of media.
