This like PhotoBooth in ISX will be something better left ignored by all users soon enough.

An anecdotal assumption I presume you're conflating. It's about the technology, not just the Animoji's.

Embarrassing features no one asked for.

Why does somebody have to ask for? Is Apple in a position where they need to meet everybody specifications for the millions of iPhone users?

These ads honestly make me feel very sad - the banality, the triviality of the times we live in. When such expensive toys and smart people bring us... this.
Amusing ourselves to death.

I think in times like these, a little amusement is a good thing. It’s easy to feel that way in America right now as we continue to let ourselves fall behind, but the rest of the world continues progressing. Myself, I try to remain optimistic, and little things like this put a smile on my face and help the time go by until things hopefully change.

Why is it so bad to enjoy ourselves a bit once in a while? Light up people...if something brings joy to people, why not?

I didn’t get the X for the Animojis, but they’re fun and my wife loves me sending some to her. Makes her smile and chuckle, and that makes me happy, so i’m Into using this feature more and more! It’s worth marketing!

Look at all the technological advancements that humanity has wrought so far, the whole point of which is to create better living standards and have more time for leisure. It’s only fair that we get to enjoy ourselves with what we are able to make. Life is short. Look on the bright side.

Ah... you checked your signature there lately, laughing boy? Everything ok over there? This 'wife' of yours wouldn't happen to walk on four legs and have a large pink horn growing out of her nose would she?

Nonsense. Puppet shows and circus and crude plays have existed for thousands of years. Get over yourself.

Animoji doesn’t even use the true depth sensor to function. Only the front camera. Yet this is only an iphone x feature. Typical apple, holding out on features from all it’s older customers.

Honestly, I think this is all just because they couldn't make the fingerprint sensor under the screen work. This is a punt and a gimmick to sell the phone. I think all the "leaks" on fingerprint sensors on the back was to test public sentiment and when it all went South they went with "Plan B" which was faceid and a bunch of other shiny things to help sell it all.

Not only it's older customers but also new customers buying an iPhone 8 with the same A11 chipset as the X. There is absolutely no reason for that feature to be withheld on the 8 other than it being an arbitrary decision to give the X some exclusive functionality.

Not bad I guess?
They definitely jumped on this bandwagon late. People started animoji karaoke right after the release date. But OK Apple, not bad.

Is all that is served up is pessimism?

Seriously. And when you say “people” are u implying the population of the planet? Really?

These ads are awesome. Period.
