Why are we talking about social issues? This is why Apple is in decline because they are not keeping business the main goal. We need a new businessman at the head of Apple.

The AirPod ads are good but not effective enough to make people want to buy them.

Also, I wonder if the AirPods were designed for the notes ad..

Man your so right . I wonder if that's the reason they continue to be sold out and I sold an extra pair on eBay for $270 a week ago.

Sorry but your so wrong. These will be Apples biggest product release in years. Yes I said YEARS.

Director's nightmare..."Cuuuuuut!!!! Damn it!!! Try not losing those plugs while you are dancing, will ya?!??!"

Your point? If they can do the job better than others they'll be hired. Otherwise, not. Lack of diversity in management is a non issue.

I used to have a similarly hard-line perspective on affirmative action (which is essentially what we're talking about), until I learned that bottom line performance is not always what drives success in team/group settings. You can hire the "best" guy (or girl) out there, but how much of their previous success can be attributed to the people they were working with, and how do you determine the value in different perspectives? Certainly it seems evident that Apple, lately, is in need of new perspectives, as they've been narrowing their focus quite a lot within the last few years. If all of your executives are providing input from within a single common cultural bubble, who could possibly influence them to explore alternative paths? As much as upper management loves to pretend like they care about the ideas of their employees, we all know damn well they will rarely take action on anyone else's thoughts but their own. Even then, a fully diverse executive pool will rarely be able to see things from the perspective of non-millionaires...

The AirPod ads are good but not effective enough to make people want to buy them.

And yet people do seem to be buying them. Some people even seem to like them.

Like you, I'm having trouble processing the fact that your view isn't shared by literally everybody else.

Love my airpods.. have had them for about a week now. No issues with charging, they don't fall out, unless I really try to make them. Connections are great, sound quality is pretty good, and calls are decent.

My only complaint, just like the earpods always have, that after about 30 min of wearing them, they hurt my ears... something about the way they are shaped, or the hard plastic, just hurts the inside of my ears.

I've been trying to ignore it, hoping that maybe i'll get used to it, because the airpods are so convenient, I really like how I can make calls/listen to music using just one of them while i'm at work, and just switch them out when i need to charge them. I like the case, its light and charges pretty fast, using siri isn't as awkward as I thought it was going to be. There are a lot of co workers of mine that use dictation to send text messages already so its not like im the only one talking out loud here.

Maybe ill get used to the pain, its one small gripe.. and before, i would just use different headphones so maybe Im just not used to it yet.
They will be like slightly tight shoes: a slight inconvenience now but an instrument of torture later. Just like Cook.

You show your true colors with your thought policing. Everyone must agree with you or you insult them. Good job.

Dear, Jason. We deeply regret any misunderstanding that arose from our recent post in which a winky face went missing prior to delivery. Our writing team is meeting with management this week to discuss the ongoing and ever increasing need for clarity of execution and intent for all future communications.

Sincerely,
Two Buck Chuck

I was initially skeptical of purchasing the AirPods.

After owning them for a little over a week I'm definitely happy with them.

I got them primarily for working out and can confirm the following which were my concerns. They stay put without issue while doing the following exercises : barbell/dumbbell benchpress, squats, leg press, basketball, elliptical, treadmill.

They are not in-ear so realistically the powerbeats wireless 2 I purchased about two months ago eliminate more background noise and sound louder. It's pros and cons for both.

One negative for the AirPods is I find from time to time I have to toggle bluetooth on my iPhone. Otherwise they either don't connect or features such as pause when taking one out of your ear doesn't work.

Loved the advert and music. Perfect choice of song.

Not even seen the new AirPods let alone tried them as they don't have any in my local Apple Store.

are you suggesting they use black people as the live-action replacements of the silhouettes in the ipod ads of old?

All I'm saying is that with their latest ads and product launch videos they've used black models exclusively to promote AirPods. There is a very brief overhead image of a white woman wearing them, but they're hardly noticeable and the shot was more likely to highlight Apple Watch as her accessory. Make of the coincidence what you will

Well, in terms of the product, I think it they are good. To be a no-brainier purchase, they would have to have double the battery life and be over half the price.

But in terms of the ads, they simply don't make you want buy them. I'm sick of all the praise for Apples 'beautiful and amazing' ads. They might be, but it doesn't mean they are effective. Some manage to be, and they're excellent. But Apples marketing tone changed in 2013.

* "you're so wrong"
And no, I'm not. Because I never mentioned sales. I said the ads aren't good enough to make people, who aren't thinking about it already, want to buy them. AirPods are brilliant and an attractive product to many, including myself who also sold a few online. That has nothing to do with the ads.

The most successful thing Apple has done is marketing, period.

Why should you have to get used to the pain cause by a product offered by a company that refused to acknowledge these same criticisms about the earpod design they ripped off from 5 years ago? Don't be a tool, return them with a valid argument and maybe Apple can stop forcing customers to have to compromise to use a product simply because it has the Apple brand name on it.

Made this gif to show you a major flaw in the video.

HE LOST ONE ALREADY!

Wish they would have made an ad where the protagonist would ask Siri to make louder or softer while being on a commuter train... Siri - Make Softer and that 5 times to get the volume at the level of intent.

Hey Siri, Skip to next song. Hey Siri play previous song... How uncool is that in the public. I'd laugh at anyone asking his assistant to make the volume louder. Unless he is a handicapped person !

I haven't tried Airpods on yet, but if they stay in my ears while running or working out, I think I'll get them.
They sit there really well in comparison to cable version (which also sits great)

Only problem with them is that they have ZERO features. You double tap and ask Siri to handle something for you like upping/downing the volume. You can also set double tap to stop/play but THEN you loose SIRI activation...

The pods are REALLY dumb - aside from the fact that can connect to Bluetooth.

A lot of black people in the ads, but not in the top management of Apple.

Black does NOT equal diversity.

I swear, if aliens came to earth and the only research on Americans they got from what was on TV and movies they'd quickly come to the conclusion that there's only two races - White and Black.
