I think apple might be trying to get one up on Bose here. They are showing how pairing is so easy compared to the Bose ones and how that's apple magic! Apple are too classy to refer to Bose but the dancing is similar and ad has a similar feel imo.

I don't believe Bose spends nearly the amount on marketing over Apple. And Apple's marketing is so unique when compared to Apple's with venue and how they choose to market their product.

I may be the last one to realize this but the AirPods work with the Apple TV. How great is that? Just watched a movie while the wife slept like a baby. I loved these things before tonight but now they are on a new level.
Any Bluetooth headphone will work with any Bluetooth device. Not that shocking, but glad you found it to be novel.

Interesting cause I was thinking about how that could be for diversity, but probably more to have them stand out by contrasting the glossy white with their skin color. Now if only Apple made them in black...

are you suggesting they use black people as the live-action replacements of the silhouettes in the ipod ads of old?

I keep hearing an AirPods and iPhone 7 association.
I am "assuming" that they work with any iPhone, especially those who can run iOS 10.

Requires an iCloud account, a device running iOS 10, macOS Sierra or Watch OS 3.

this ad makes apple look really cheap for copying, plus they actually emptired the streets in the bose ad

The Tube station is likely to be the old Charing Cross (Jubilee Line) one which is used for TV adverts, films etc.

Would visit London more often if Oxford Circus and the Trocadero was that quiet!

The thing is that A) Siri is not so good B) I don't want to talk to Siri for basic functions like volume up/down, it just looks weird in places where there are people close by C) As non-native english speaker, Siri is basically unusable. I have heard same from many different people.

So it goes to same category with Apple Pay, Touch bar, Apple TV, Siri and even Apple News app. They are targeted to US home markets and that will cost Apple a lot (except Touch bar, it's just gimmick).

I like the ads. They show more COURAGE  and are kind of cool like the iPod ads in the past. Way better than those short watch ads from a few months ago where I hardly understood what it's about.

Now you get to charge your phone *and* your headphones! PRACTICALLY MAGIC!

I have a 6-port USB hub that is currently being used to charge only 4 devices (iPhone, iPad, Airpods and Apple Watch. So yeah, I don't have devices to charge. Any suggestions? I could use up to two more.

Apple. The true masters of misdirection.

Ooh pretty headphones with no wires! (Yeah. They're called bluetooth, chum. 'Been out for years.)

Siri. It speaks to you. Clever! (Nah, mate Circa 2011 . It's OLD tech.)

But the advertising it's so .... (Oi, mate! Its 2017. Get with it. See it for what it is. Not what they want you to think it is ... next customer please. Hello there can I help you? New innovation? No you're looking in the wrong place ...)

Just watched a movie while the wife slept like a baby.
Constantly waking up, crying and poo in her pants? I wish more babies would sleep like grownups.

I like the ads. I never see these in television (probably cause I don't watch TV), but I'd probably watch these to the end if they ever appeared on YouTube.

You had me until the end... "Touch bar, it's just gimmick".

The touch bar add's just extra dimension to interact and look. Mouse, keyboard and screen. Now add touch bar to touch and look. That's the reason why touch screen is more intuitive. The main reason why Apple is not doing the touch screen is that OSX is not build to support that.

Why are they diverting resources towards making commercials instead of updating the Mac Pro?

:D

Profit margins. They know that high end desktop computing is low margin business and with Apple price strategy, they could not compete PC world anymore. Want to pay 6k for desktop which has obsolete hardware?

I don't buy many Apple products any more, but the Airpods are bloody awesome.

I almost feel like Apple purposefully designed the AirPods with that fugly tail just so they could make them look like music notes for that commercial.

The speed of pairing is a pretty stupid thing to focus on. Pairing any bluetooth headphones is only a one-off action, saving ten or twenty or even thirty seconds over the life of the product is nothing. What's annoying is having to manually select the AirPods each time you switch between devices. I thought it would be smoother than it is. I still like them a lot, but hopefully in the future our devices will have some kind of smart switching that detects the AirPods and plays output to them without extra actions.

ATV could not output to BT headphones until gen 4, and AirPods will have everyone looking for things to pair with, so you're not alone. :D

Before the W1 chip, I avoided pairing with any device that wasn't mission critical because BT was so finicky and doing so often meant having to unpair and re-pair later on, while cursing at headphones in front of innocent bystanders.

Love my airpods.. have had them for about a week now. No issues with charging, they don't fall out, unless I really try to make them. Connections are great, sound quality is pretty good, and calls are decent.

My only complaint, just like the earpods always have, that after about 30 min of wearing them, they hurt my ears... something about the way they are shaped, or the hard plastic, just hurts the inside of my ears.

I've been trying to ignore it, hoping that maybe i'll get used to it, because the airpods are so convenient, I really like how I can make calls/listen to music using just one of them while i'm at work, and just switch them out when i need to charge them. I like the case, its light and charges pretty fast, using siri isn't as awkward as I thought it was going to be. There are a lot of co workers of mine that use dictation to send text messages already so its not like im the only one talking out loud here.

Maybe ill get used to the pain, its one small gripe.. and before, i would just use different headphones so maybe Im just not used to it yet.

Ouhm, why people keep using things that cause them pain is beyond me. And years later they wonder what caused their health issues, ... :-/
