You two are reading waaay too much into it. Sharing is just an operative word in social media. There's even a share button on this post.

Apple 'unveils' is for product, 'releases' for software updates.
Good point. "Share" is also the replacement for "export" in Final Cut Pro. I will stop worrying about it :)

So, that's what it was. I was trying to teach my dad how to select and copy/paste text on his new 6S. I have a 6 and he could never copy what I was doing. Sometimes it would work for me, but never for him (first-time iPhone owner)

Yea, it started with iOS9, but it may not be 3D touch related, it could be a bug, or this might be the new norm for Apple.

I think Apple's products are becoming less and less user friendly with every update.

OK, how about "Apple shows new advertisement..." or being more "social media-esque" we could say "Apple uploads new video" since that's *really* what they're doing when putting something on YouTube, no?

When you say "Apple 'unveils' is for product", it's almost BEGGING for the word "releases" at the end... "Apple 'unveils' is for product __________" "Apple 'unveils' is for product releases " LOL.

I also wasn't aware that the word "releases" was exclusive for software updates (see above)... I'll have to let the movie rental place by me know so they can take down the "new releases" section since they're not releasing software updates. Maybe they can just call it the "new stuff to watch" section.

Not persnickety if you ask me. Exactly what I've been thinking all this time too; cringe every time I read it, makes no sense to use the word "shares."

Ehhh, it's pretty persnickety and pointless given the context but I like to bust Alphazoid's chops about it a little ;)

Yeah, I love how my iPhone 6 was fast a year ago and now through updates that have barely added functionality (new emojis anyone?) it has become painfuly slow. Thanks, Apple.

I haven't tested it but the new "Hey Siri" feature learns what your voice sounds like at setup so it shouldn't respond to other ppl saying hey Siri.

There's a training screen now, so it's only supposed to work for one person at a time. But I have no idea how well this works.

I think there is a voice learning feature, but I barely remember setting it up.

I know that sometimes siri activates when I do not want it too.

I think there may be something wrong with my 6s+ because it doesn't seem that fast, it seems more laggy then my 5s.

Also, the 3D touch is pretty annoying. Opening a link sometimes takes multiple taps to get it right. And selecting text is almost impossible now. I hate typing anything on it.

Although, I might be touching it wrong.

I trained my phone so that only my voice activates it. My wife and her phone do not affect mine. But as vertical smile states, there are other statements that I make that sometimes seem to wake Siri up.

I was on a conference call in the office with the phone and iPad sitting on my desk. I said something and both devices respond I don't understand and caused a small embarrassing moment.

So, a young couple, say, each with their own iPhone 6s, and one goes "Hey Siri". Do both phones answer? Or, say, a group of people. What happens then?
Damn good question. Trying this tomorrow morning with other iPhone users at work.

Like so many of these ads, if it really worked that way ..... but it doesn't. Not always. Maybe sometimes.

This is so true for Apple products lately.
As a life long Apple fan, since the 90s, I liked them because they were easy to use and consistently worked. You would have the occasional problem or bug, but for the most part, Apple stuff would do the job. There was little thinking or effort involved.

Now, it seems like they do the job most/some of the time, and are getting more complex to use. There are random restarts with the iOS/ATV4 devices, and the Macs are kinda buggy. Mac OS hasn't had a stable OS since Snow Leopard. Well, ML was okay.

I kind of feel like Apple is currently where MS was 10-15 years ago.

ads :p Apple's thinking is this is "better" than a phone, and we want to make iPhone users aware of that...

weather u like it or not... Yes u don't "have" to see it's, but if kind of difficult to resist that play button.

Must be you then. None of my Apple devices (see signature) have ever rebooted randomly, except a few times when using an iOS beta. And I don't find them complex to use. Maybe the Apple TV a little bit, but keep in mind it runs the very, very first version of tvOS. Pretty sure things will be fixed. Can't speak of the Mac however, but I did read a lot of positive things about El Capitan; for example, that it would be much more stable compared to Yosemite.

I don't understand any of the complaints here. Maybe I'm just not someone who thinks difficult about Apple stuff. :p

Anyway, I like the ads. :)

OK, fine, I'll say it. Maybe I'm being persnickety, but I don't like how all of these headlines say "Apple shares..." like they're so graciously and generously blessing us with their advertising. They could keep it to themselves, but no, we are so lucky they are SHARING it with us.... How about "Apple unveils..." or "Apple releases..." I never say to my friend: "Did you see that new commercial that McDonalds shared during the Super Bowl?". I say "Did you see that new McDonalds commercial?".

I can see how, in a sense, "sharing" is used in context with being online; "sharing photos", "sharing articles", "sharing <online content>" -- but I thought I've seen these same advertisements that are always "shared" with us on MacRumors on TV as well. Correct me if I'm wrong and these are always online-only. If not, and they make it to TV, it would seem "sharing" that would apply to an online context does not seem to work here, it just makes it sound like we're feeling so fortunate to get to see these. (and some aren't very good, but some are OK)

How about "Apple subjects us to..."?

If you have to make ad that says it's "powerful" then it's probably not that powerful. I'm a iPhone 6+ user and doubt that anything that i do with my phone would be noticably more faster in 6s+.

If you have powerful product then you don't need to say it out loud. People do it for you for free.

It isn't just me though. Other have posted the same problems.
Maybe we push our stuff harder than you.

I agree with you about the ATVs, the ATV3 runs great, the ATV4 has some issue. Hopefully that will be fixed.
El Capitan is getting better, but still not as great as SL or ML.

I am not sure if you mean the complaints of the ad or complaints of apple. I personally did not comment on the ad.

Many of the complaints here about Apple are valid. When people pay a premium price, they expect a premium product.

I too am an Apple fan, with over 3 dozen Apple products that I currently have. 11 of them are Macs.

I used to recommend Macs and Apple products to people. Lately I find it hard to justify the premium prices for what are becoming mediocre products.
