I think it's ok that people are critical of Apple. Too many fan boys singing praise and not willing to speak up about their frustrations breeds stagnation. If people didn't complain, we still would have the dreaded one button mouse!

Apple is best when they are competitive and consumers are willing to walk if there isn't excellence from them. Microsoft lost a lot of customers and Nadine sure did turn things around.

And childish comments are ok, especially when it's about advertisement and corporate spin. Just like their spin about 4 inch phone being the perfect form factor... "common sense" as their ad said.. I say call everyone on their BS!

A one-handed phone IS common-sense. Too bad they've forgotten what that means.

Everytime I use my iPhone 5S I have a smile on my face, it's light and perfect for one handed use. only thing I would change is the battery.

Siri couldn't figure out how to adjust my Nest's temperature, not very powerful. I expect things to "just work".

One of my annoyances about the new Hey Siri feature is that it tries to be too cute and flippant. I asked early in the morning what the time was as I didn't want to open my eyes and it replied "It's 5:30 am, too early to wake up I'll say".

Just tell me the time, forget about the colorful dialog to go with it, especially at 5:30 in the morning.

Another time when I first got it, I asked Siri something and of course the display goes on with the answer on screen along with the vocal response, but it was night and I tried to see if I could turn off the display quickly, so I said "Hey Siri, go to sleep". It replied "Siri never sleeps".

But when I asked the next morning for the time, it said "It's 7:28 am, you woke me up". When I asked "Hey Siri, I thought you never went to sleep", it didn't respond.

I also noticed Siri set up about 12 alarms for the same time because I kept asking it to "set" my 8:00 am alarm instead of "turn on" my 8:00 am alarm. Why would any supposedly powerful OS think I wanted 12 alarms set for the same exact time?

As you can see except for telling time I haven't really found any use for asking your iPad to do anything hands free especially when it must be plugged in to use it that way. So all that changed is nothing really except a mildly annoying feature not very well implemented, again.

Google isn't doing homekit, but there are 3rd party scripts, I use one, to make siri work with nest.

"Hey Siri, goodnight" is meant for homekit. If you have homekit enabled lighting in your house, saying goodnight shuts them all off. If you don't have connected lighting, then saying goodnight elicits the response you got.
But before iOS 9, I tried saying 'Good Night" to Siri and it responded me "Good Night" too. This is not related to homekit or anything alike. Apple has changed the algorithm of Siri to let it become more tied with homekit?

Just tried it on the Ipad Air 2 : I got Huh it's 2:56 pm... 3 times... I got a particularly interesting english accent too (being a native french speaker...).

Not sure how you're able to get a bad response from some a simple query.
It's not a simple query. You are asking Siri to set a "scene" via HomeKit. 50% of the time she can't find my devices and can't complete the request. I'm not asking her for the time.

So, that's what it was. I was trying to teach my dad how to select and copy/paste text on his new 6S. I have a 6 and he could never copy what I was doing. Sometimes it would work for me, but never for him (first-time iPhone owner)
I knew this would be a problem... such a fail. Desperately hope they retire 3D touch ASAP or make it 10x better... it's so primitive right now.

I don't know if Siri can take care of request containing multiple languages. Previous test showed that this was impossible.

This is why I don't think I can waste anymore time in this forum. Look at all of these posts. Absolutely worthless. Silly comments made for the sake of making silly comments. No thought. No discussion. Just childish meaningless nonsense.

So leave, you won't be missed.
