Is this what Tim Cook meant when he said we'd be seeing more from Apple in the Pro market?

Personally I think their doing it in a run up to the release of new iPads, if the March event is happening it's a good way to get people to be thinking about iPads.

I know there are going to be people that like these ads, but some are just horrible.

I have been seeing the MS word one a lot lately, that one is just stupid. Does this type of advertising work on people? Who is the demographic they are going for?

Also, the ridiculous "the iPad doesn't get PC Viruses" statement. The iPad also doesn't get Mac Viruses, or the bird flu, or STDs.

Again, who is the target audience for these ads?

look at who is in the ads to determine the target demographic. They are very clearly targeting 15-30 year old women with these ads. I would say that is probably the target audience Apple is hoping will ditch cheaper-mid range windows laptops with an iPad.

My goodness, those ads are abysmal.

They don't speak to you because you aren't a frequent tech using millennial girl. That's clearly the intended audience.

iOS needs remote management. I would love to get an iPad Pro for my grandparents, but I need to be able to remotely connect into it show them things sometimes. It's super easy with Windows... impossible on iOS.
Which is frustrating beucase Mac OS has done it for so long. That's exactly what I did with my grandfather years ago.

Yes, some of them are annoying, but I don't mind the ads. They do highlight some useful aspects of the iPad Pro. What I find annoying however, is that Apple started calling it a "Pro" device. I just think that is kinda lame. It's an iPad! Apple didn't have to slap a "Pro" label on it just because it can use an Apple Pencil or Smart Keyboard. That is pretentious & over reaching on their part. Apple should have just continued calling it an iPad. Otherwise, I'm cool with the ads and am looking forward to the updates to the iPad line.

Probably people that Apple convinces that they can't do without these features, but after they do purchase it, they find out that they can do without them and rarely use them. Or, later find out that it's old technology that competitors have had for years. You know, the "cool" kids...or sheep.

Is this what Tim was talking about focusing more on "Pro" products?

If so, I invite Tim to jump off a building. And not from a Foxconn factory (since they have nets)

Some people need to do serious work that needs processor intensive tasks. I know not the majority here but all the creative things takes a lot of power to do. If Apple was creative they would make it able as a tablet (like Wacom) to mirror parts of your computer screen and draw like Microsoft new all in one can on your iPad/Mac.
But I'm afraid the creative industry belongs to Microsoft soon too, like education (where people learn to love a brand).

Remember the this picture? It's history too :(

[doublepost=1488571677][/doublepost]You know what's so funny? Apple is making ads for chrome books and every other tablet maker who are delivering the same products for a fraction of the price. If Apple wants to score it needs to differentiate from competitors and as it isn't doing on price they should excel in all the things competitors can't do. Oh wait... can't think of anything :(

Imagine you'll need even fewer devices if it runs MacOS instead of iOS on training wheel.

If there was going to be a March event to unveil the new iPads, wouldn't we be seeing part leaks by now. And how many weeks before event do they give out the invites?

If only the iPad Pro was not so expansive. At its current price I'd recommend anyone to get a laptop, this from an iPad Pro owner, it's no laptop replacement

It's a device with laptop pricing but fundamentally iPhone functionality. A Samsung note is closer to a laptop replacement as u get access to the file system

Woah.It can scan papers and record lectures. Now thats a pro device right there
I hope that's sarcasm, because every iPad for the last several years can do that. The only thing new is the pencil, which works better than a soft tipped stylus.

This could very well be true, since I am not in that age group nor that gender, this could explain the ads not resonating with me.

But, who is the targeted audience for the idiot saying "word" in the MS Word on the iPad ad? idiots?

It would make sense if apple did a massive markerting blitz to promote the the iPad Pro as a laptop replacement and "pro" machine before releasing a newer and even better iPad Pro.

The Mac Pro is dead, with the mini. The iMac will become the new top end machine, with iPad pros pushed hard.

My only issue with this ad is that it's advertising things that are not built in to the system. I would love to be able to record in my notes app. Don't "sell" me on products that are not baked into the OS. If I have to buy something else to use the function then your'e programming and advertising it wrong.

an iPad Pro can replace several existing desktop accessories, like a scanner, a pad of paper, and a laptop.
That's pretty much what it can do. People expect it to replace their desktop PCs or their heavy-duty desktop-esk laptops... but nope. Many professionals don't use those, but they use these that can be replaced easily by an iPad Pro.

Really? Because office isn't baked into MacOS and thats the industry leading office suite. Neither is any Pro app for editing video etc, which is what many buying a Macbook Pro would use it for.

Also, the keyboard and pencil aren't included so I guess they shouldn't bother trying to sell those either? Do you even know what marketing is?

They even put a damn disclaimer at the bottom of the ads for people like you and you couldn't even bother to read that before making your comments.
