i'll say it again......bc other parts of the company that are wildly more profitable are growing so very well. Oh and now that apple will be in the streaming content game....... wonder what thats gonna look like 10 years from now? What about the fact that they are also entering the health and wellness market with one of their most notably popular products ( which was dubbed a flop on day one ), know as the Iwatch........ hmmmmmmm, guess the phone doesnt have to grow anymore, does it? Oh......and don't forget about the 5g upgrade cycle that will come in a year or two.
So I'll ask again i ask, what don't YOU seem to get?
Who said it would be 2K? I don’t expect Apple to release one until 2021. But when they do it won’t cost nearly that much and it will sell like crazy.
I don’t get why this has become an investors forum. Bragging about profits seems more appropriate on an investors forum.
Fall 2021 is essentially 28 months from now. By that time Apple can produce a foldable phone at a much lower cost than the Fold. By fall 2021 there will be countless foldable flagship Android phones and I can assure you they won’t be near 2K. Nor will Apple’s.When has Apple’s new flagship prices been lower than the previous? I don’t know how you expect prices for that tech to drop so precipitously in just 2 years. If Apple increased the cost from the 7 to the X by several hundred dollars, you can expect at least that for a foldable phone. Of course, this also assumes Apple even decides foldable phone are the way to go anyway.

It’s common sense that foldable phones are going to revolutionize the smartphone industry. I cannot predict how much the foldable iPhone will be. But it will be affordable enough to be purchased at a high volume. That’s nothing but conjecture. How much do you think a foldable iPhone will cost?
Totally agree! My phone does everything I need it to for the foreseeable future...until 5G is fully established. Probably another 3 years.Yes everyone is correct that smartphones are lasting longer and longer, and will continue to do so. Hell, the iPhone XS has enough headroom to easily last 5 years.
Phones have matured. What else can they do? Not much more, at the moment.
So Apple needs to continue to push in other areas. The 50% growth in wearables is encouraging and the services business might soon overtake the iPhone, but they need to diversify a little more.
As all hardware matures, Apple needs, and appears to be, returning to what it’s best at: software.
Not if they were expecting to ship 50 million.Apple Shipped an Estimated 36.4 Million iPhones Worldwide in Q1 2019, a 30% Year-Over-Year Decline
Almost any other company in the world would be ecstatic if they shipped 36.4 million of anything in a single three month period.
It has never been known as the Iwatch, only Apple Watch, but I agree many thought it would flop. It is the best product I think they make and cannot wait to see what they can do with health. What about the fact that they are also entering the health and wellness market with one of their most notably popular products ( which was dubbed a flop on day one ), know as the Iwatch.

seems like this thread is about the results from todays quarterly earnings report, no? Or is this just a place for haters to come bash apple and we can't actually talk about info related to the title of the thread?
If you don’t see the obvious appeal of a tablet you can carry in your front pocket, then I don’t know what to tell you mate.Because why? And there’s nothing particularly ‘revolutionary’ about it. It’s a smartphone that opens up to a bigger screen. Where’s the revolution in that?

Really? That’s what you think? I guess you missed how much profit they made, or is 11billion not up to your standards? I’m not sure Apple needs or wants to sell the most. And no, competition is not heating up. I have yet to try a Droid phone that isn’t basically worth the nothing it costs most of the time.I’m not sure if services will be enough to make up for iPhone’s declining sales. Competition is strong. Apple is doomed unless someone as visionary as Steve Jobs takes the lead.
I’m curious as well since if most of the services income is tied to Apple’s own hardware it will also eventually decline with decreased units sold. Is AppleCare included in services?I’d be curious to know how much of the services revenue is due to the iPhone.
This thread is about the 30% decline in iPhone sales. There is another thread about the earnings report.

my appologies, sorry if i came across rude. Seemed like nothing but bashing here.
I will say though, if it wasn't for the Christmas quarter where apple had a huge miss ( attributed to the trade / tarriff issues we are having with china ), the YOY decline wouldnt be this bad. Also, since apple no longer breaks down unit sales of the iphone, this is only an estimate........so maybe it would have only been a 15% YOY decline.
You are seriously comparing a revolutionary new form factor/smartphone category to improved processors and cameras? LMAO.Just because there’s appeal doesn’t make it a revolution. There’s appeal to a faster processor and better low-light camera performance, but those aren’t revolutions either.
Let me make sure I’m reading your post correctly… you are saying that 1 billion people are currently using an iPhone?
If true that’s 1/7 of the entire world using an iPhone? I’m certainly not challenging your numbers but the mass majority of the worlds population lives in the 10/40 window and make less than a dollar a day. If 1 billion people are using iPhones right now then Apple has completely taken over the 1st world, developing nations and a large part of the 3rd world. There may very well be 1 billion iPhone sold, since iPhone 1. But that would include many, if not most, users buying more than one iPhone. Example... I’ve owned all but the “S” models since iPhone 1. 1 billion sales wouldn’t equal 1 billion users. If it’s really 1 billion active users, then consider me impressed.
You are seriously comparing a revolutionary new form factor/smartphone category to improved processors and cameras? LMAO.
Lmao. It’s a completely brand new category. It has nothing to do with any previous iPhone. It’s two screens sizes in one device. And it achieves a screen size that is impossible in its current state. It’s a complete game changer for smartphones. How you don’t understand that, I don’t know. There’s nothing revolutionary about a bigger screen. The industry’s done that for years now. 3.5”, 4”, 4.7”, 5.5”, 5.8”, 6.5”...
Putting a computer in everyone’s pocket was revolution. Putting a bigger screen that folds on it is not. That’s evolution by the very definition.
