I understand that, but they are losing market from people like me who will most likely never buy a gaming system. The last system I owned was a super nintendo.
Then you are part of the minority. People like me always buy new game systems (depending on collection of games with that system).

Those companies aren't losing customers. They are gaining customers every year. It's a video game industry. The only time the game industry didn't make a single dime was during the era of video game crash of 1983 (which only applied to USA), when companies like Atari and other unknown companies abused the hell out of crappy games and sell it with $60-70 price tag.

Not sure I am part of the minority there. In 2009 "Study: 40 Percent Of US Homes Have Gaming Console, As HDTV Adoption Rises " http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=24757

If 40% own a gaming console (For Shats and giggles), we'll divide that evenly and say 13.3% of American's own a Nintendo. That leaves a huge population of people that aren't able to play Mario Kart.

I would also like to point out, that as a married man who works full time in the day, while the wife works at night so we can avoid overpriced daycare that I find it hard to find a lot of time to play a gaming system. So I am an occasional gamer I can't see spending hundreds of dollars on a system and $0 to $60+ dollars per game. When I already have capable hardware computer/iphone.

That is from 2009. It's end of 2011. The percentage of homes owning game consoles have quite grown by now. And it's keep growing.

Both studies are in 2009 one says 60 and one says 40. Even if it was 75% it's still split between Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo mainly. Say it's even...then 25% of american households have a nintendo, that means 75% of Americans don't have Mario Kart and my point is still valid.
I'm obviously talking about video gaming systems in general. Not only the Nintendo ones.

Again, even if it's grown to 90% by now, split that between the big 3 and 30% own a nintendo. That means 70% of Americans do not own Mario Kart.

And I'm talking about all the people who owns God of War, Halo, and Zelda/Mario.

It'd be insanely awesome if Nintendo got into iOS development (even though I own a DS and a copy of Mario Kart DS). It's also highly unlikely to happen.

Exactly, I would suspect that about 70% of American's do not own a system that can play Mario Kart (at least not the latest versions). Why not offer your game to those who will not buy your gaming system.

Doesn't have to be all their games, but a few of the popular ones. It might even get some buy to buy the gaming console if they want to play it on the big screen with real controllers.

Nintendo hate the mobile games. It's actually stealing profits from their handheld market. So no. Nintendo, personally won't be involved with any type of gaming with mobiles. But there is always a slight chance that third party devs for Nintendo will work on something.

Another good reason for them to put "their" privately own games on another platform. Make profits from Apple. Hate all they want, their are two things that keep the wii in the market. Late releases from Sony and Microsoft and the fact that they are only $199.

Nintendo could sell Mario Kart, Zelda, Metroid or whatever game for like $19.99 each in the app store and I'd still buy it. As I'm sure many others would as well :)

Again, you're ignoring the fact that 70% or more of American's do not own a nintendo. I am sure people that own iOS devices, Xbox, PS or computer would be willing to buy "nintendo only" games.

Expand your market, maybe even get some people to change platforms.

Because they can't sell consoles anymore since they failed multiple times like Sega did.

Why are you keep mentioning nintendo? Weren't you talking about Atari just now?

Wow, I can tell you're a kid. I won't insult you, because I don't want to get banned from the site. Anyway, I referenced Nintendo several times in this thread. Atari once.
