The aircraft B-1340 is currently on ground in PVG, landed 12hrs ago, a cargo plane. Suparna Airlines does have charter service(even the local government uses their carter to deliver). I think this might be our charter.

It’s possible. There’s a Suparna flight to Anchorage in less than 90 minutes. Don’t have my hopes up though.

I wonder if the Apple Store stock is also stuck in Shanghai. There seems to be stock of any 8/8 16gb 1tb machines. For that matter, there seem to be no base model stocks either.

Is Apple contracting the charter flights or UPS? I know as far as manufacturing goes, Apple buys equipment and offers other "help" to companies with whom they contract manufacturing. Perhaps they have an agreement with Fedex/UPS/DHL to help organize charter flights when there is heavy traffic for Apple products (e.g. launch of new products, holiday season).

As an additional question for everyone here, I’ve been unable to select “express delivery” on my last two Apple purchases (M1 MBA and 2020 iPad Air), but for some reason was able to get my 2020 iPhone SE delivered express. Is this a Canada thing? Has anyone else had this problem?
I was not offered that option when I ordered my Air. I’m in the US.

it arrived on Tuesday 1st December and I’ve broken it already by attempting a clean installation - trying to fix but what a disaster!! :(

I highly recommend you say to yourself NO if “clean” reset...

bought the M1 from Officeworks, JB Hi Fi had a 2 month wait...
Oh no Mate That sucks! Goodluck! I purchased online from the Apple store on 22 Nov and ETA is 18 Dec, hopefully, it stays on track.

There's not any live tracking for Suparna Airlines flights on Flightradar24 or FlightAware. The flight number seems to be y87465 and it was scheduled to take off 7 minutes ago. How are we going to figure out what plane Apple is chartering? When will our packages leave Shanghai? @Gnattu do you have any updates on scheduled flights?

It would be nice to see scan within US. Flight today fits with Dec 3 delivery date but seems too soon for Dec 7 deliveries.

UPS is contracting the charter flights. Once Apple hands the devices over to UPS for shipment UPS is in control of everything that happens from that point on.

It ships with a clean installation. Why would you do it again??

Does anyone with a Dec. 2nd-9th delivery have any tracking info? I’m still on processing.
Same boat here. Still processing. Ordered MBP 16GB/1TB on 11/15. Spoke to an Apple representative two days ago and she stated that the laptop was going to be shipped from a US warehouse. Not sure if she just made that up to appease me.

I was just told it will ship overseas, and should ship out tomorrow.

From what I understand, unless your credit card has been charged, it is not ready to ship. Just checked my credit card and they have not charged for it as yet. I can’t imagine it will make it within the delivery window if the card is not charged by today. This is all very frustrating.

It depends on your shipping if you have standard it’s probably shipping from China if you have express would be local warehouse in United States. My MBA base model has dec 2 - 9 with express shipping so it should ship from a local warehouse soon.

How do you check what shipping method you have?

Have you used track by reference on UPS? (Your reference number being your phone number)
I found this today from my UPS account. It’s possible it could be it. I haven’t been charged yet, which is weird though.

looking at some random configuration looks like 2TB machines are standard shipping.
Mine shows express for 12/10-12/17

In searching the 2019 threads on here when people got the same "chartered aircraft" message for Apple shipments out of Shanghai , it was Suparna "Yangtze River" that was the carrier back then. So you may very well be right!

Apple Stores around here shut down again (Covid) so everything including iPads showing currently unavailable.

@gank41 @FreeWoRLD83 @aw3524 congrats guys! I'm so glad you guys finally received yours! Those who didn't already, make sure you come back and post a final complete timeline. Date, original apple estimate, charged date date/time, preparing date/time, shipped, time spent in chine, delivered, and a shot of your full tracking history. When people come back and go through forums, those are the perfect data point posts.
