Shanghai Gang: I spoke to Apple Support about my order. They're saying that the "In Transit" status means it has left Shanghai and is on a boat and hasn't made landfall yet in the US. They're saying the order can't be air shipped because of the battery type, and that I should still receive it by Dec 1. I don't believe that at all, because everyone else is getting their orders air shipped and it would take much longer if it was coming from China on a cargo ship - weeks.
I don't believe it although it sounds interesting. I think customer services try to make up plausible stories to keep frustrating customers calm; I doubt it is part of their training.

That sounds like a total load of crap.

wow! did yours have the special weekday delivery handling on it?

would you mind sharing your tracking history so far? I shipped on the 26th also, but still in shanghai, no scheduled delivery with fedex yet. "pending" though they are scanning it at least. The most recent one was 30 minutes ago. View attachment 1681337

My MBP shipped yesterday say I will get Thursday by noon.

Started in China, now in transit to SENNAN-SHI JP ??? I am in midwest

Looks like our packages went seperate ways. I have a Left origin facility at 10:53am, but then "at local fedex facility" at 11PM, and again 5 hours later 3:15pm Eastern, so like 1.5 hours ago. Where is yours being delievered to? I'm in North Carolina. Would like to have been getting the heck out of Shanghai with all it's issues. But at least it's being scanned and updated. Don't like that the scheduled delivery still says Pending though when you guys seem to have an date showing.

So, turns out posting here seems to have a magic effect – mine’s just been changed to Processed in Amsterdam. DHL now also estimates the delivery to be Monday.
I don't get how DHL works, their tracking shows "Shipment information received" since Monday 23rd and I'm supposed to get my MBP on Tuesday. Your delivery date is close to mine so I would expect them to move pretty much in sync. Really weird.

I've called UPS multiple times and they told me that it was in Shanghai. I think the support representative was not aware of the situation.

That's Japan and I'm assuming yours is coming Fedex. That's how mine came - Shanghai-Japan-Memphis-[NJ-NY] (east coast delivery). Once mine left Shanghai and was on it's way to Japan, it literally got to me in less than 24 hours. I was part of the "launch day" shipment so they may have been expediting things more than now but, yours is probably arriving soon!!

Finally some movement after almost 2 weeks of processing... my order has moved to ‘Preparing for shipment’.
I ordered on November 13.

Did you request like a senior advisor/supervisor/manager? I feel like the tier 1 advisors are just going to tell you whatever the tracking information says, but if you get someone higher up, they'll actually do the investigative portion of their job and find out what's actually going on.

That being said, I feel like what someone else mentioned of UPS saying that it's sitting in Shanghai and they have no idea when they'll start moving is the answer after an investigation.

I don't think it was intentionally made up, the rep was most likely looking at the UPS tracking website for my shipment which just says "In Transit, Shanghai, 11/24/2020" with no description. She assumed it was a departure scan because that's what it would be in a normal situation.

Anyone can tell how long to get delivered to the East Coast once it leaves the factory....thanks all

Can we please get Macrumors to write an article about this? We were already charged, all paying at least $1200+, yet we have no expected date that we'll get our products delivered? I would be fine if they said that the shipping would be delayed and it would come on December 22nd or whatever instead. Without a scheduled delivery date, we can't even claim our packages as missing or late when it doesn't arrive. "Guaranteed Delivery" means nothing without it.
I was surprised with a new "We're processing your order email" with a December 22nd ship date. Same order as my original from November 11th. Shipping via UPS, originally had a 11/30 delivery date quoted in a November 18th email "Your shipment is on its way."

That would be absolutely lovely if this happened to me. Our tracking looks similar up to my most recent scan. Hoping for an update around the same time it took you to get one which would be 10am my time, then that would mean only another day or so to get to me! I think Monday is likely out of the question for me, but hoping for Tuesday!

I hope so. Fedex says Thursday:(. Thank you for the sequence. I am in Indiana.

Got shipped notification on my MBP on 11/25, now my order is in Anchorage, with a FedEx delivery of 12/2.
If they have their s*** together it doesn't seem impossible for it to arrive 11/30 or 12/1. I can't wait!

Here's the tracking my MBA took to the East Coast so you can try and estimate yours once it leaves China! I ordered really late on 11/10 (so basically 11/11).

Just got my AppleCare+ proof of coverage email! found that the "standard transit" section under "Shipment Facts" on the website shows December 3rd by 12pm. Delivery still hasn't been scheduled, I think maybe it's waiting to see when it gets moving out of Shanghai, but it says based on my ship date and ship service selected, that's when it would come by. I have half of that day scheduled off of work, I'm hoping it comes the 1st or 2nd instead as those are my weekend days, but either way, I'm ecstatic!

It shows it shipped the 27th but that's shanghai time, techincally it shipped and was picked up on the 26th so hopefully the 2nd isn't out of the question!!

Anyone get Applecare+?

My system has shipped, I bought Applecare+, just got email saying coverage is good thru 11/29/23.

Problem is FedEx says I will not get until 12/3.

I get ripped off 4 days of coverage .... This happen to anyone else?

My M1 MacBook Pro just shipped today. It is showing in FedEx an arrival date of Monday. What are the chances it will be delivered on Saturday. It isn’t too far away from me but the special delivery section says deliver weekdays. Really kind of antsy to get it. Just wondering if anyone else’s was delivered on a Saturday?

Weekend delivery won't happen. Special handling says delivered weekday. But 2 days is crazy fast! Gives me hope maybe mine will come sooner

It should update once it's delivered. AppleCare plus usually goes by delivery date. Just save the packing slip with the proof of coverage.

FedEx delivers on Saturday and Sunday, but if your order just shipped today, I would expect a 5-6 day wait.
Mine shipped on 11/25 with delivery on 12/2.
