Well, this morning on a whim I checked the Apple online store and found a MBA M1 w/ upgraded CPU, 16GB, 1TB available for pickup tomorrow. I cancelled my online order, and will be picking it up locally tomorrow. My condolences to the Shanghai crew and others with their unit trapped in transit hell. 😔

[Edit] to be clear, my online order was still in "Processing"
Unfortunately, there is only one Apple store in my entire state and it is closed due to COVID. So no local pickup.

That is totally ok, it does feel better to see Dec 23rd vs Dec 30th though ;)
I think it will be later than that though. I put in my order for a 256 GB SSD + 16 GB RAM MBA M1 on 11/21 and Apple initially stated ETA: 12/16 - 12/23. Then, they changed it to 12/21 - 12/29. So, I think the same will happen to you and you might end up with an ETA in January.

#ShanghaiGang Another shanghai gang member here. Ordered on 11/11, Shipped on 11/20 and has been stuck in Shanghai ever since. Estimated delivery date was originally 12/1. Not only am I without a computer atm, I also leave the country for a few months in a few weeks so this is truly a nightmare for me. Hopefully this resolves itself soon.
#ShanghaiGang Apple just confirmed to me that my shipment in Shanghai has been declared as lost and they are shipping another...with a Jan 4 delivery date (original date was Dec 1, same as yours). :-(

I hope that they haven't "lost" a whole container and that your machine isn't in the same shipment. Mine also shipped on 11/20, and never seems to have left Shanghai...stuck on "Clearance in Progress".

Look out for a bunch of M1 Macs on the Chinese equivalent of CraigsList. ;-)

I ordered mine about a week ago. Still 'processing' and estimated delivery Dec 17-24.
MacBook Pro 8GB, 1TB.

I'm trying not to think too much about it but damn, that is a long wait time.

Got Apple on the phone this afternoon, explained the situation (Shanghai, UPS) and was told it was a widespread issue and an investigation had already been opened. About an hour later I got an email stating that my shipment “was not delivered by our carrier.” They say a replacement will be sent as soon as possible and I’ll be notified when it ships. So, no clue on when (Apple Store app still says Dec 22), but they said it typically happens within 24 hours. The wait continues.

Jan 4 would be a problem for me.
I will leave the country after Christmas, if that is the case, can I just cancel the order instead?

With more of you getting new shipments I ended up contacting Apple and they still say mine will be here Tuesday.. despite my tracking matching everyone else’s tracking. I doubt it!

That's what they told me yesterday. I doubt it as well.

I contacted apple today and they told me my package is already in Germany despite the ups tracking saying in transit...
I really hope they are telling the truth and I will not be one the ones getting a second shipment. Feel so sorry for you guys :-(
But this seems to be a really major problem and UPS should definitely be more transparent about it...

Ordered MBP 11/12 16gb,512 drive. Estimated delivery 12/7-12/14. Fedex is saying 12/2 delivery. But it is in Richmond VA as of 7:00 am today. Richmond is only about one and a half hour drive from here, so I'm hoping for a tomorrow delivery. Fingers crossed. GoGo FedEx.

I called apple, because i am part of the Shanghai team and they confirm to me that everything looks great (even when UPS claims IN TRANSIT - DELAY) and i will have it this Tuesday. So lets see...

Late to the game here, I ordered the 16Gb Ram and 256GB storage I have never regretted the less storage, but always not spending the extra on the more ram. Not since they started with the NON-upgradable ram. I can always plug in external storage, but add ram, never. I know they are great NOW, but with subsequent OS releases , I have seen my Macs get slower and slower due to inadequite ram when running multiple apps. That being said, they just pushed my delivery back another week to Dec. 21-Dec 29... FML, if only the apple stores had Stock

The same just happened to me. My arrival state moved from Dec 1 to Jan 4....basically just the same if I had just ordered the machine today. I'm not happy.

Which machine and specification? My MBA 7-core/16GB/512GB shipment was lost in transit and re-ordered by Apple yesterday, and I got a delivery estimate of January 4. It looks like any upgrade with 16GB RAM has a delay of 5 weeks.
The base Mini, just to hold me off until the next batch of AS.

What was your shipping date? I just received a message from Apple that my order (shipped 11/19 in Shanghai) has been declared as lost and there are sending me a new unit (still processing) with delivery estimate of Jan 4.

I had hoped that Apple would have a few extra units to send to people who have shipping problems that could be sent out immediately, rather than having to go to the back of the queue. Who knows how long I will stuck in "processing" now....

Agreed. I keep checking stores in the area but it seems all those available for pickup only have 8GB RAM. I could live with a bigger/smaller hard drive, but considering I’m upgrading from a 2013 MBP that’s not factor I’m willing to compromise on. Not much else I can do though except hope they try and make it right somehow.
