Apple Silicone Case

They are both very similar. Both are thin. If I had to pick I would say the leather felt a little thinner in the hand.

I agree. I have both. The leather seems thinner, but the silicone seems like a better grip. The difference in thinness is very marginal.

After using the apple leather case exclusively on my 5s, I am very impressed with the silicone one. I started out with another leather one on my 6 but it didn't feel the same as my old 5s case. The fit wasn't as good and I noticed QC issues that I didn't have on the older version. I don't think Apple changed anything but the leather definitely felt a bit different compared to the old version. I love the fact that the silicone cases don't have that sticky feeling like most other versions.

The case also does a good job of not collecting lint. I see a bit when I pull the phone out of my pocket but honestly it is leaps and bounds better than any silicone case I have ever owned. I also like how the case feels grip wise compared to the leather.

Nothing against the leather one but I prefer the silicone this time around (I love the blue color :)).

The silicone case feels good but it did add noticeable thickness to my 6+. I returned it though because its a lint magnet and I found myself cleaning the case off way too often. I'm rocking a Spigen case right now (very thin) and waiting on an Incipio feather to arrive.

I'm assuming bright colours like green and possibly red will get dirty easily over time then right?

I think black is the only color that I noticed lint on the case (when I was looking at them at the apple store). The other colors (including my blue one) don't show it nearly as much as the black case. I remember having silicone cases in the past from otterbox and other brands and those where way worse with regards to lint. Apples silicone material resists lint a lot more than normal silicone in my opinion. Again though, if you had the black silicone case, I can see where you would noticed lint a lot more.

Thickness wise, I can only compare it to the apple leather case. I felt neither case was thick on the phone. Then again you have a 6+ and I have the 6 so that is something to consider.

I think with any light colored/bright case will show dirt easier. The benefit of silicone though is normally it can just be wiped off. I have had my blue one for a few days now and it still looks great. If you are concerned, I would just go with the black silicone case.

I tried several cases for my space gray 6 Plus, but ended up getting the green Apple silicone case, and am very happy with it.

Whew, finally found one in stock 30 miles away and bought it for in store pickup - can't get there until Tuesday but at least it is now waiting for me. I got white for the silver phone. I love the way it looks, though am concerned about how dirty white may get.

Lint and dust will show up on the darker color case a lot more as it did with the black (dark gray) case but dirt or discoloration might show up more on the brighter color cases I would think.

wish there was a brown, like the way it looks on the gold back, Red might look good

anyone using a red silicone case on the gold back?

Yeah, the silicone cases I've tried in the past all had different levels of tackiness or stickiness to them that would result in differing amounts of lint and dust sticking to the case. Many had horrible lint issues that I couldn't stand so I've stayed away from silicone cases for the most part. Also, as you noted, the color of the case definitely matters when it comes to how much dirt is visible, as darker colors tend to show off more lint.

Love these silicon cases - Apple really got theses right.

I really wish more colors were available. A light grey, brown and some other nice colors.

Here's my wife's red silicone on her silver phone (it is actually bright red in person, not pinkish/salmon…guess we have another year of low quality iPhone cameras:rolleyes: ). Excuse the junk temporary screen protectors, will get PowerSupport crystal ones when available:

And I just ran out and grabbed a blue one for my space gray phone, more interesting to look at than my black leather, but REALLY looks like an iPhone 5C. I still think I like it better than my leather one, but will probably keep both. I do like that the silicone one has microfiber all the way up the sides, unlike the leather one (no idea why the leather one doesn't):

Reminds me of my wife's 5C

Which one feels less "bulky" I don't really like cases on my phone but just curious which one of the two is thinner feeling
I have both and think the leather feels finer/thinner. I like the feel of the leather more than the silicone but think I'm in the minority.

I got back from AppleStore after swapping my original red for the green silicone and I love it. The additional rubber grip on these cases feel fantastic and it also gives a peace of mind that a light knock on the corner of a desk/door will not ding the phone.

Ringke

Love my ringke case, but i do not recommend dropping your phone with it on.

I tried the black silicon case for a couple days with my plus. I loved how the phone felt with it but it attracted a lot of lint and other little particles so I took the case back to apple.

After a week with the silicone case with my 6plus im still digging it. Love the grip I get with it, and the lining is really nice.

One thing a noticed is that it is hard to remove from the phone. I actually took a small divet out of the side of the case trying to slide my finger under it when I was trying to remove it from my phone. Bugs me since the case is so new. Definitely a SNUG fit, almost was afraid of bending the phone trying to get it off. any tips on removing this case?

If it's like the leather one, you just start from the bottom first. It's much easier to get off. Pull the bottom lip down and the phone should start separating from the case.

Yea that's where I started to pull the case off but the case seemed so stiff and the sides grip was so tight I didn't want to apply anymore pressure to the phone body. That's why I was trying to slide my finger under the side lip to help loosen the case but discovered the lip was easily damaged. Just going to be leaving the case on until I really have a need to clean dirt accumulation.

Hmm. I'll take that consideration as well since I just bought the silicone case. It was easy to snap in just like the leather case, but the leather case was pretty easy to take off too. I'll be extra careful with this one.

Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah I noticed it's def a tight fit, but I take it off from the bottom and the rest of it work right off! With this case I don't think dirt and grime will be too much of a hassle since it's such an exact fit especially with the felt lining on the inside.

I have the same feeling that not much grime will be getting inside this silicone case. The little bit of mung that collects around the screen can pretty easily be cleaned up with a screen wipe.
