I'll try not to get too hyped, but this does sound very exciting! :D An early release of Leopard would be very awesome. Not only that, but I'm dying to have iLife '07 already!

it's possible that Apple will host an event on Feb 20th, I don't think it's where Leopard is launched. I think Jobs may go for a 10 minute presentation on Leopard update and spend most of the time on iLife and iWork and how they incorporate with iPhone.

Couple other small update on hardware is also feasible.

while we have no prior track-record to believe these guys, the "insider info" isn't unrealistic. maybe they do have insider info that's reliable...but i could probably have "leaked" some of this info without knowing any insiders. they're not going out on a limb or providing breaking news.

the only part i'm doubting is the release of leopard...from what i've seen it's not nearly finished yet...and if apple's incorporating more GUI and finder changes it won't be until june when leopard surfaces, IMO.

1 week after my birthday... 1 week and 1 year since my last bday present which was sposed to be touchscreen ipod..... To wiii or not to wiii........

Just a bit too late; my ADC student membership ends mid februari :S I was hoping to get that free leopard dvd but it's arriving a month too late :(

This is not going to happen.Period.

imho :)

I'd rather get a new 13" MBP with backlit keyboard...OS X can wait a little while, as new MacPros...

The following part of the mentioned site is a bit disturbing though:

"As always, a couple seconds out of your day to Digg us means a great deal to our humble site (more viewers = more exposure, more exposure = more sources, more sources = more recon), much appreciated!!"

Is it all about clicks then?

Yes, but they :)apple:) said "spring", and June isn't really spring, is it? ;)

hmmm, don't know if this is tongue-in-cheek...but "officially," spring begins around march 20 (the spring equinox) and lasts until the summer solstice around june 21. so june would still be spring! :)

OSX has never been released on a Saturday, plus, none of the shipping companies deliver on Saturdays.

The first release of Mac OS X was on Saturday, March 24, 2001. And IIRC, they did arrange for Saturday deliver if you preordered. So there is a precedent. Of course, this was the day OS X was actually shipping, not an announcement/press event.

So, unless Leopard will be shipping that day, a Saturday date sounds suspect to me.

ME WANT LEOPARD

I've been waiting forever for a new mbp and leopard....but the chances of us knowing when its gonna come out are slim and none and slim just got hit by a bus

Hmm... Then the summer here in Norway is ridiculously short! :D

Damn it! I was counting on him. :p :D

thank God...maybe all the whiners about it not being released in January will just be quiet until then :)

I have $1200 sitting in a bank account WAITING to buy a MacBook, but I wont buy it until Leopard is out. Hurry Up Apple! I'm waiting!!!! :)

European stores down

Just noticed the UK store and a few others (Germany, France, Italy etc) are down, and they're "busy updating the store" and "will be back shortly". That normally means something neeeeewww doesn't it?

Well, end of march coincides with a 30th anniversary product...

Im about ready for a MacPro, so lets see it!

Since when does Apple give free OS CD's to ADC Student members? Last time I checked the ADC Student information, they explicitly said it didn't include the software seeds, etc. that regular ADC Select accounts get.

Since ADC has been offered. With a student membership you do not receive access to pre-release seeds, however the retail versions of Mac OS X client are shipped as they become available.
