I’m excited for more content... but this will not be a monthly service I pay for. I’ll probably wait for a lot of content, subscribe for a few months to catch up and then cancel

I think that is exactly what Apple expects, at least for Year 1-2. I suspect they would be quite happy if you did so.

They should price it at 6.99 and need to release more content quick. 5 shows is not enough ill probably signup but once im through the content I will unsubsrcibe. But I like the strategy of quality over quantity. They actually shouldnt release all the episodes at once but a couple at a time. maybe 2 or 3 at a time.

Some of the shows look good with great casts. However like I've said before and others have expressed - I'm not really looking for yet another streaming service to add or more content. I already have dozens of series queued up that I don't have time to watch/finish!

That's why for me buying music, TV shows, films, and games outright still makes far more sense. I'll use them when I have time, then maybe revisit after a couple of years. The idea of paying multiple subscriptions over those years (and still having nothing to show for it at the end) is nonsense.

If you’re struggling to watch these shows what use is owning them on DVD?

Agents saw Apple coming a mile off. If those figures paid to Aniston etc are even close to being correct.

Aniston - A 2 x 4 has more acting ability.
Witherspoon - A lump of concrete has more personality.

Yes, big names draw the initial viewers in, but if the shows are terrible viewing figures will plummet quickly.

I haven't seen one compelling Apple produced show yet. Carpool karaoke sounded like a novelty that's about as interesting as animoji's. Fun for about a week. Then no one uses it anymore. The show about the space race that never ended? Sounds boring. A post-apocalyptic blind world? Uh not really interested. A show staring reese witherspoon and jennifer aniston? Don't care. Apple seems to have nothing edgy or compelling. Just more packaged, mainstream, vanilla content. No thanks.

I don't see how this number could be correct. Just seems way out there.

Over-budget I can understand, this I can't. I'd really like to see a breakdown on what they spent this on.

Or this number is just wrong.

Just stop. Foundation, alone, will likely be worth the price of the subscription.

Why would consumers care about profit-more markets? Why would consumers care about sustainability? The fact of all the metric points you pointed out profit and sustainability kind of shows why you don’t understand nor will you ever understand half of the complaints.

On the topic of Apple TV+, they can easily burn thru a large chunk of their cash and not have much to show from it. It’s why there is much skepticism about this service.

Apple loves to drop products and services it gets bored of.

They would have been better off taking a large investment in Netflix. Bad move by Cook and these things happen when you have cash to burn.

How many streaming services are we going to subscribe to and what all are we going to watch?

10 bucks a month for a handful shows? They need to add a lot more value to the subscription if they are expecting many subs with that amount.

Another problem is that all of their content seem to cater to the same audience. And very PG friendly. Without a wider mix, they’ll again struggle to attract subs.

Disney plus is launching around the same time and is $6.99...Apple’s offering pales in comparison and is relying on the built-in ease

$10/month is quite a lot for almost no content. 3-4 original shows and that’s it? Or am I missing something?

I'm going to be amazed if there is even one show I'm interested in watching.

Sounds like you’re not the audience Apple is targeting. Better stick to what you currently have.

There’s too many streaming services, and Apple is late to the game. I’m not holding much hope here....

Yes, Apple is doomed. They were too late with their MP3 player, smart phone, tablet, music streaming, etc., too. When will they ever learn?

I would rather pay $10 for guaranteed top quality content, the kind that Apple has shown in their trailers and previews, most of which seem HBO'esque in writing, filming, and acting quality, than pay $16 for Netflix which has a handful (3, IMO) of good shows, gobbed full off total trash and filler.

The only shows I find enjoyable on Netflix are Stranger Things, Mind Hunters, and Umbrella Academy.

Apple seems to be attempting to create a brand of exclusively prestige dramas, while Netflix puts so much garbage out that it dilutes the entire platform and makes it very difficult to find the strong and high quality shows. When I open Netflix and begin browsing, I now NEVER feel confident that I will find something worth watching.

They needed to buy one of the other streamers (or Fox). Don’t see how they have enough content to warrant a streaming service.

Easy choice between this and Disney plus.
Yeah, $10/mo. is about $5/mo. too much IMO.

People paid $9.99 for CBS All Access and that only had one show: Discovery. (Now, also Twilight Zone).

A strong buzzworthy show is all it takes to get someone to subscribe until one is done binging. I don't expect subscribers to retain the subscription month to month like a Netflix, HBO, or Hulu.

6 billion spent with 0 subscriber so far.
Well you expect subscribers before they open subscriptions? I mean it is not like Netflix got 15 billion subscribers without investing first....
Sorry Apple, you will flop hard here.
It has an Apple logo, it'll be fine, there's plenty of people that will buy / subscribe to anything they make (and will defent their "company" no matter what).
There’s too many MP3 players already, and Apple is late to the game. I’m not holding much hope here..."
