So yet again on another product launch, they don't have the product for release on the day?

Only Apple could get away with this.
Right. If only they would do it like Nokia. Then we'd have a proper media event.

I'm actually a bit disappointed if this is true. I'm am/was really looking forward to pre-ordering tomorrow. I just want to get it overwith.

The 3rd gen iPad was able to be pre-ordered after the keynote. I was really hoping to do the same for the iPhone.

I wonder if this time they will sell the unlocked version right away in the US. Last year, it wasn't until early November that it officially went on sale, though you were able to buy the full-priced AT&T version from Apple Stores in store, and that was unlocked.

I'd much rather order online this year.

I think with the iPad there was plenty of stock, and oddly enough, the best time to pre-order wasn't right when the pre-orders started, but about 2 hours later after their servers caught up. Those who didn't pre-order were able to get them in store a few days later on launch day. I think the iPhone supplies may be tighter since there have reportedly been delays in getting the displays produced.

The reset is a myth. I've tried the bristles route. I need to get a finer bristled brush because a toothbrush wouldn't fit.

I had issues with my home button recently on my iPhone 4 last year and Apple replaced it for me. Then last month it started acting up again on the replacement. I found the reset method, tried it and it definitely worked. Prior to doing that it was virtually unresponsive unless I pressed really hard, and afterwards it was back to normal and has been fine ever since. So believe what you want but it worked wonders on mine.

Couldn't agree more. When did the iPad 2 pre orders start? Hopefully TIms switching to same day pre orders.

Just think. In exactly 24 hours, Tim Cook or someone on his team will be waxing poetic about some obscure new feature in iOS 6, and the boards will be abuzz over when they are actually going to get to the new iPhone. :D

I don't know how the pre-orders went for the iPad 2. I hope we can pre-order tomorrow. If not, guess I'll wait until Friday. Not like I have a choice in the matter.

Now that you mention it, It was a couple of hours after the keynote, that I pre-ordered my iPad. Ahh good times. :)

Oh well. Guess I just have to learn to be more patient. ;)

When you pre-order when is the delivery date? The date it hits stores? If you pre-order and it is in stores 9/21 do they usually deliver to you to arrive 9/21?

just a question about launch....

the ipad launched in germany and US at desame time.
Was the iphone 4/4s launch also like this?

or....?

thanks!

Does this include unlocked iphones or they going to try to get as many people on a carrier contract, then release the unlocked iphone a month after the launch date?

That is great news...I get paid on Friday and might be able to afford the 32 GB version :)

This is bad news.

Hopefully they do open up orders right after the keynote.

Wow...how about a little patience. I know you are excited (I am too) but 2 days won't kill you.

Could you imagine..... "hey everyone thank you for coming...by the way Pre-orders are right now"
Everyone in that room would be frantically logging into the apple store on their MacBooks ....lol

i'd support friday. let the details be chewed on a while before pulling the trigger. also, gonna be hard to sit at work waiting for apple's servers to catch up with demand and trying to get job stuff done.

This is great. I hate Preorders on the day of the event. I like to be able to absorb the keynote, check it out online a bit and not feel rushed the second the event is over. And getting up at 3am isn't bad at all. I also think traffic is less at 3am as opposed to going live at 2-3pm est.
