I agree with you more than I believe what the rep told me. It's just crazy that they are so clueless about it. I wasn't even trying to find out when it was going to be delivered. All I wanted to know is whether UPS delivers to my house on Saturday. The guy kept insisting that Saturday delivery is out of the question and that it would be there Thursday. So I asked him if can I have Saturday delivery on future packages, regardless of this current shipment, and he said I could.
Based on your edit, that seems to make the most sense. Thanks.
It should be easy enough go in UPS' website and just do a shipping quote from the same place in China to your zip. It will tell you right there if Saturday delivery is available. In fact, you probably only need to to a transit time query from anywhere to your zip and see if you get a Saturday delivery date in the results. If you can normally get deliveries on Sat., then you should get it on sat.
What everybody needs to keep in mind is: these are coming from China in huge consolidated shipments to the distribution centers in the US. Once they get there they are broken down and treated like individual domestic shipments. This is not something that happens that often where normal end-users get one package out of a huge consolidation. And especially not where there is a hold put on the packages first. That's why most of the UPS reps you speak to will get you inaccurate info. Not because they are lying, they just don't have experience with something like this.
