Sure. They can do what UPS calls an "intercept" and reroute the package somewhere else. We have done that a few times after we shipped and then figured out that the order was fraudulent.

Thanks for the response.

I think I'm going to...not tell him this for now. ;)

Yes, it can ship from China to your door in less than 2 days. I wouldn't worry unless you get to Friday with no change. I'm guessing that some people think they might get it early if it's already shipping by now, but count on UPS holding them for Saturday.

I am willing to bet that one of the top 10 views on Youtube Friday will be someone "unboxing their iPad a day early". I bet that would get some folks stirred up :)

Got a tracking update:

GUANGZHOU, CN 03/30/2010 7:10 P.M. DEPARTURE SCAN

I do not have an estimated delivery date yet. Not knowing if it's going to be Saturday or Monday is killing me.

tracking update

Mine says it's in Louisville KY but "Status" is now listed as "Exception" which it looks like means Apple is probably making UPS holdup the package so it is not delivered early

I ordered two iPads, the 16GB WiFi for April 3rd, and a 64GB WiFi+3G for Late April. I also ordered all the accessories, but only the WiFi iPad has shipped...nothing else has been prepared for shipment.

the exception message is what we got yesterday and it is basically UPS waiting on paperwork from Apple for customs...its no biggie and it cleared off my tracking this morning..

I had the exception yesterday, but it has been resolved, and it's listed as "In Transit" I believe it's mentioned earlier in the thread, but the exception was something to do with paperwork.

The exception on my tracking cleared this morning as well. It now says In Transit.

Damnit, mine still says Prepared for shipment 32gb wifi ordered on
Order Date: Mar 12, 2010 at 05:37 AM PDT

Interesting. You, me, and bucksatan731 ordered within 15 minutes of eachother. Ours are on a bumpy ride down a Chinese road and his is still sitting in a warehouse.
Interestingly, that warehouse might be in the US. If I recall correctly from the 3GS launch, some units were already state-side. Those people whose phones were already here got very late shipping notices, but delivery on the launch date. Which is why I wouldn't be freaking out, calling Apple, or harassing UPS. If Apple took your order before the cutoff, you'll get your iPad on Saturday.

Very interesting, I ordered mine around the same time as all of you. Mine be a factor of which iPad you ordered?

Thats true. I also ordered the 16GB. I think GeekLawyer ordered the 32GB though, and it appears we have identical tracking information.
