Apple Starts Shipping iPads to Customers

My tracking info currently has:

SHENZHEN, CN 03/30/2010 9:10 A.M. ORIGIN SCAN
CN 03/30/2010 9:50 P.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

There is no estimated delivery date which I think is pretty typical at this stage. Does anyone have an "Estimated Delivery Date" showing up on the UPS web site? I called UPS International Shipping (800.782.7892) and they confirmed that I'm set for Saturday delivery between 9:00am and 7:00pm. Now I need to go play nice with our local UPS guy and see if he'll deliver to me first on his route (I have a 7 hour drive from the Bay Area to SoCal that I would rather not start at 7:00pm). :D

I cannot believe this! Apple forgot to put my shipping address on the package! So now I am not going to get it until after the second delivery attemp, which will be late next week! :mad::apple::mad:

Well... because Apple said they will change it... but it wont be changed until they try to deliver it twice.

But if there's no address on the package, how will they add it after the fact?

I've been told that after delivery is attempted once, you can go to the UPS depot after-hours (when all the trucks are back) and retrieve the package from the staff at the counter. Might be worth investigating.
 
I just called UPS and they said that my area does not have Saturday shipping. What the F#%K

The only problem is my local customer center is closed on Saturday... :(

One note.... Does anyone else's "Shipped to:" thing under the UPS tracking status page say only their hometown, not the exact postal address?

How do you know there is no shipping address?
My tracking gives no street address as yet, only a City and State, but that is sometimes what it is like this early in the shipping process.
 
There is so much confusion around these things. A lot of it is coming from uninformed UPS employees.

I don't care whether it gets here Saturday or Monday. I really would just like to have a definitive answer on whether UPS has Saturday delivery in my area so I can make arrangements.

Me too, my family is planning to head into town on Saturday, and I would hope it is here Saturday morning so I can get it setup and go with them. It wouldn't be fun waiting at home all day for it to arrive and it doesn't come.

Mine was virtually the same as yours, up until a little while ago when it changed to this

The billing information time and date has changed.

My billing information was also changed, to 4/1. Interesting.
 
Mine has changed as well. Somethin hinkey goin on. I'd like to have accurate tracking info instead of it being masked.

Just refreshed the UPS page and, yup, it changed to 4/1. I have a feeling that all of this date/location/back-in-time stuff is just a bi-product of moving these around in the system so they don't get delivered early. For all I know, it's sitting at the local warehouse. As someone posted earlier, it's pretty atypical for a shipment to get purposely delayed so who knows what's happening behind the scenes.

I'm the same way. As I said, I have a long drive ahead of me and I would rather just wait till I get back then be driving down I5 in the middle of the night (says the guy who's refreshing his UPS tracking info every hour) :D

That bothers me that mine has not left China yet... :( Oh! Anyone who has ordered a case at preorder launch will be shipped on Saturday! :D

Anyone who has an ipad that has arrived in the US, has the "Shipped to:" status changed to your actual address?
 
My BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED just got in this morning at 6:51 my time. Interesting. These things have to make it to Louisville physically by tomorrow, or this will become a stampede to get these things to where they belong. Come on UPS!
