Anyone who has an ipad that has arrived in the US, has the "Shipped to:" status changed to your actual address?
No, and it won't. The UPS shipping status will never show your full address. Anyone who gets ahold of your tracking number would know where you live. It will only show the city it's routed to. So maybe you're not out of luck. What did your emails from Apple show???

Same here. I figure it can sit in Louisville until Friday and still hit the Saturday morning delivery window. But it would be nice to see more forward motion soon.

Ours definitely have to be in the same batch.

The Email from Apple said my full address! Maybe I am not out of luck! The only thing now to hope is that my ipad is actually on a plane to KY and it was just not updated for some reason...

My BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED just got in this morning at 6:51 my time. Interesting. These things have to make it to Louisville physically by tomorrow, or this will become a stampede to get these things to where they belong. Come on UPS!

I really wouldn't be surprised if any of the shipment information we all have isn't 100% accurate. Apple obviously has a special arrangement with UPS. That arrangement could mean that all of the tracking information is totally bogus. I've been trying to find patterns since they began shipping and I cannot come up with one.

You're golden then, as far as the delivery address is concerned.

In the other thread those guys are tracking UPS flights. Apparently a couple of them landed in Anchorage a little while ago. Maybe your iPad is enjoying the Alaska weather right now?

The other thread? What other thread?

There really aren't any patterns, and the shipping information is always, 365 days a year, delayed by up to and exceeding 24 hours, but it should be sufficiently accurate. And at least 33% of the fun of a new gadget is tracking its progress (real or not) around the world to your front door. It's the way the Apple fanboy mentality works. =D

Tracking airplanes. Lol. That's hilarious. I'm desperate for information, but at risk of looking like a terrorist, I'll refrain from tracking UPS flights.

The only problem for the address is when I called UPS, they said they don't have an address. In which case im doomed. I can only hope and be positive :) If it does not come on Saturday I will be sick on Monday :D *cough *cough

Oh, and of course. For those with tracking OCD, iPhones, and a UI fetish, Junecloud has us covered. What a pair of beautiful and functional apps. The Dashboard widget has Growl notifications, the iPhone version has Push, and both look amazing. Here's a link. Dashboard widget is free, iPhone app is $2.99 and worth every penny.

I prefer to call it OTD (Obsessive Tracking Disorder) LOL

I cannot believe this! Apple forgot to put my shipping address on the package! So now I am not going to get it until after the second delivery attemp, which will be late next week!:apple::mad:

Please remember guys that these iPads are coming from China in large consolidated shipments. As in hundreds of pallets full of boxes all clear-wrapped together. Once they get to the distribution centers they will break down the consolidations into individual packages and then they will be addressed and shipped out to us. Also, the tracking info will be pretty screwy until they actually leave the centers and get put on trucks/trains/planes to go out locally. Until that happens there won't be any address information showing up with UPS. Just stay calm everyone. We're all going to get them on Sat., unless of course you are one of those poor souls who can't get Sat. delivery.

My iPad is somewhere between Anchorage and Louisville, I have no faith in accurate tracking until it AT LEAST gets to Louisville. Plus, these updates are incredibly delayed, up to 24 hours. I'll give it until tomorrow morning to show any progress, just like it did this morning at 6:51AM.

I finally got a clear answer from a UPS rep that my location is in fact eligible for Saturday delivery. I've had to speak to three different people. The first two times I gave them my tracking number, which only seemed to complicate things. Finally, I didn't offer a tracking number and received a definitive answer. Looks like I will accomplish absolutely nothing this Saturday!!! :D

Ahhh I see now what they did...they changed it so the iPad will ship in on Friday from China via World Overnight.

All those weird exceptions and other crap was just to do this?? Mine had the Louisville and even local UPS center scans and then it was all reset to this.

Shipping from the future!

Awesome. I think I have Saturday delivery, as far as I can tell.

Below is the currnent status for mine; has anyone had this as their original tracking info, then it change to something different? I really think this means they do not deliver to my address on Saturdays. This is driving me nuts because for me this is a holiday weekend, and I want to make plans to go out of town to visit family, but can't get a clear answer from UPS or Apple.

Tracking Number: 1ZXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Exception Reason: THE SERVICE SELECTED IS NOT AVAILABLE TO THE DESTINATION ADDRESS
Exception Status/Resolution: DOWNGRADED, FORWARDED TO CONSIGNEE, SELECTED SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE (RESOLUTION)

It's "downgraded" because normal service is "next day." The "downgrade" is just UPS's way of telling you that Apple has delayed delivery...to Saturday.

Well, shipping/tracking hasn't moved, mine still says everything is still in China.
What would be the cut off time for flying these to the US and getting them to local hubs in time for Delivery on Saturday?
They seem to be cutting it a bit close now unless they are now fudging the tracking info.

Mandy

Just a note, if it wasn't obvious, all this tracking information is bunk. Your iPad is likely in the closest warehouse, waiting until Saturday morning to move out. I wouldn't place any credence to these dates, locations, and times, Apple has basically ensured complete secrecy on where everything is. It'll arrive before it gets into the US.

I had that same exception and it went away within a day or so. UPS said it only means that the package was changed to a different type of shipping service with a different type of tracking. It doesn't reflect whether you are eligible for Saturday delivery or not.

If you call UPS, don't mention anything about the iPad or your tracking number. Just ask if you have Saturday delivery in your area, and give them your zip code. They can confirm whether you are eligible for Saturday delivery.

Yah, they don't normally, and am confident that this won't be a special exception. UPS is managing millions of shipments per day; the iPad won't be a special arrangement to deliver here in the sticks. Sucks that they use UPS for a Saturday launch date. I think I will demand my shipping costs back! oh, wait... ;)
