mine still shows not yet shipped I ordered at 7:32 CST... 2x 32GB Wifi....

I'm using Amex, mine account says "Prepared for Shipment".
In a classic "belt and suspenders" mood I reserved one 64g iPad for store pickup and one for home delivery. Have no idea what I'll do with the second one but I didn't want to risk not getting one! Ordered both iPads within five minutes of availability for pre-order and got my shipping notice this morning!
It is UPS World Express service which should deliver to most metro areas on Saturday. I live in Boston -- do you think that qualifies as a major metro?

Someone up a bit - or in the other forum said they had a "Service not available in their area" type of message, with a Monday date.
I just actually created an account with UPS to see if i got more info - and i don't have a possible delivery date at all, and no message that it won't show up on the 3rd is there.
I also don't have anything showing a date at Apple.
I think i recently did get a package from UPS on a Saturday - i was shocked. But really, i so do NOT want to deal with the teenager if it doesn't get here on Saturday. It's her birthday present - and her birthday was 2/2! LOL!!
You're right, of course, but that doesn't affect UPS. It's a regular work-day here in the US. (Banks open; mail delivers, etc.)
I posted this on the other thread, so I figured I would post her...this is coming from UPS but I got Apple Customer Service involved and they say they are wrong:
I just got my shipping notification showing tracking via UPS from China but called UPS to confirm about Saturday delivery and they said with customs and all of that it will not deliver till 4/5???? NOOOOOOOOOOO
Can someone please calm me down before I pass out...why would they say guranteed 4/3 delivery and then this happens?
With a company like Apple I highly doubt your shipment will get held at customs. I'm pretty sure they have this pre-filed and ready to pass customs with a breeze.
I just got off the phone with UPS just to find out if they had Saturday delivery here and all I got was the run around...depends on my tracking number, blah, blah. I told them the specifics of the situation with the whole Apple arrangement and they still couldn't tell me an answer to just a general question: whether they have delivery service on Saturday or not in my area. Typical UPS. I really wish Apple had used FedEx like they usually do. Now I'm going to be holding my breath. UPS never even delivers consistently around here M-F.

Wow, it's just a piece of consumer electronics. If when you're getting an iPad causes this much consternation for you, you have bigger issues. It'll get to you when it gets to you.
Mine shipped today but whether it comes on Saturday or Monday doesn't matter...I'll still get it. Maybe better if it comes Monday so I can spend the weekend with my family rather than goofing around with the iPad

In part I agree..I think its the anticipation for the product thats getting us all hyped up. On one hand Ill be playing with it all weekend if it comes Saturday...on the other if it comes Monday, Ill play with it during the week...but I think Ill take Saturday...more time to play with it..

Ordered an extra iPad just for the hell of it plus all those expensive Apple products in your sig. I'm buying an iPad too, but later in the year, I need to save up for one. Have fun. Some people collect books , some collect baseball cards...Others look forward to a specific sporting event and cant wait for it to come. Others look forward to a huge party that has been scheduled for months. We look forward to this product (or other Apple products) and it's our "Hobby" It may cost more and all that but every one has their own interests. It's not what it costs its the value you put on your experience. We don't degrade the person who pays 10K$ for a coin, because that is their collection, this is ours. /rant
That's fine and all. I just think the craziness and hype that people generate reflects poorly on the community and where a lot of stereotypes come from. I'm excited about the iPad but it's not the foremost thing on my mind, I don't understand how it can be for anyone else unless they have no job, no wife, no kids, no other interests, etc.
Just my 2 cents.
I think the problem may be that you care too much about what other people think.
If you don't get the hobby/enthusiasm thing, don't begrudge others who do. Life can't be all about your job.

I was worried when people said that holds were already put on their accounts for the iPad last week and mine hasn't. Now everyone is excited cause theirs has shipped and mine hasn't. My order was at 5:36am on the first day of preorders too...

Could be you are getting one that is stored domestically? Mine is still prepared will see where it says it starts out when it changes
