Apple Store 5s Orders are Preparing for Shipment

Where is Apple, in terms of 5s orders?
I just ordered my 5s yesterday (Gold 64 GB) around 11 AM EDT, and have the shipping date of October. I would love some feedback from those who ordered their phones later in the day on Friday, or more recently. Most people posting here seem to be those who ordered within the first few hours of launch. At least maybe we can get a feel for where Apple is in terms of fulfillment of 5s orders, at the moment.

Same here! If it were shipped with fedex I could believe the possibility that it might arrive by Tuesday but UPS loves to stick to its own schedule... Better than arriving at Friday or next week though
Both shipped UPS 9-22-13 appx 9pm pacific. Shows delivery date of 26th on one and 27th on other. Ups shows both 26th. Cool.

MY iPhone was in Korea for an hour
My iPhone sat in China for about 12 hours but then arrived in Korea for a brief stopover (it's in transit again now). I wonder if it was swapped for a Samsung Galaxy while it was there? /s

Say wut? UPS has always delivered early for some of my orders if it could.
Anyways, I also got an ETA of Wednesday, I can't wait.
Mine still says preparing for shipment. I can't wait to see that coveted, Shipped status and a tracking number so I can make plans for the week.

I ordered mine Friday morning at 4am CDT. Silver 32GB and mine is still Preparing for Shipment. Killin me smalls

My guess is that you are not seeing updates like that because people who ordered at that time are probably not seeing progress in their orders. I ordered a 64GB AT&T Gold iPhone 5s with e-mail confirmation at 12:07 and my order is still in processing items with an estimated shipping of 7-10 days. It will probably be a few days before we see movement (depending on color and cell phone company) for phones ordered later on Friday.

Ordered mine on Friday launch morning. (2AM CST) Originally the delivery date was Sep 30-Oct 2. Went online and status is shipped with a delivery date of Wednesday, Sep 25. (5s, 32 GB, Silver) although status states it is still in China. I noticed some postings about folks ordering the unlocked phones just so they can keep their unlimited plans. Whats that all about ? I'm an AT&T'r and during the ordering process it allowed me to keep my unlimited plan or select another of the plans. I obviously kept my grandfathered unlimited plan. And i didn't get an unlocked phone. As for shipping, i always request that UPS hold it so i can pick up. I have a UPS distribution center about 20 minutes away. This is the place that the drivers work out of. I would just rather not have the drivers deal with the delivery of my stuff...take the temptation out of their hands. I do this with anything that is being delivered by UPS. I had a delivery come up missing. The driver said that he knocked on the door and no one was home so, he left the package on the front porch. I was home all day for the explicit reason of waiting for delivery so I didn't ask for "signature required". (No, he didn't ring bell or knock) Driver said that maybe someone stole it from the porch. :-(
Anyhoo, just a tip to maybe avoid any heartache.

I called UPS like 9 minutes ago to hold my package at the customer service warehouse so I'll be able to pick it up as soon as it arrives after 6am

if this is it (and it seems to be) i think it's the same one as my flight! the phones are coming to Kentucky and i'm the bordering state. I'm getting mine tomorrow according to the tracking. SO excited.

It can be tricky to get ahold of the right department. Just say "Agent" to the automated machine. It took like less than a minute to connect and I spoke to a really nice lady. She knew my excitement that I was receiving an iPhone and was very friendly and informative

I did it via the live chat on the UPS site, also had less than a minute wait. I will get it a lot earlier this way, and I don't have to worry about it sitting on my doorstep.
