Apple Store 5s Orders are Preparing for Shipment

Changed to Shipped. Got a Shipment Notification email at 9:02AM Eastern. Although, UPS says delivery on the 24th, but the email says the 26th?

Not sure. Apple will allow a signature waiver. UPS will allow you to hold at a UPS store for pickup.

I work until 7 and I don't want my phones left on my porch ..... Hopefully i can have it diverted to my work...

It looks like if you sign up for UPS My Choice (which is cool btw), you can pay $5 and divert it to a different address. Not sure otherwise.

I kind of doubt any iPhones that haven't been shipped yet will be shipped today, I mean I could be wrong, or maybe they are coming from fedex instead of UPS.

Well, its 1 AM in China so if they ship "tomorrow" that would still be today. Mine (shipped) was ready for UPS at 7 AM yesterday China time. I received the Apple email at 9PM China time...which was an hour after it arrived at the depot.

Edit: And that's arriving at the depot after already making a short 30 minute hop...so it was probably accessible in between there by searching online.

You can kind of figure out why they won't. I mean, people have decoded the UPS tracking number, including the check digit. You can pull up random people's iPhone tracking because the account, etc is the same. So you'd know basically what UPS knows about the order. How would they verify? Apple, however, can change the destination. You also can with the UPS My Choice because they verify your identity prior.

I paid the $10 for expedited shipping and it will be delivered on Tuesday, too (East Coast).

Mine will be delivered Tuesday, too. No expedited shipping.

Got my shipment notification this morning. The email from Apple said it should be delivered on the 26th (Thursday) but the tracking info on the UPS website says delivery on Tuesday.

Why is everyone making a big deal about this? This doesn't bump up your expected delivery date. Its still September 30th - October 2nd for most everyone.

Mine went from preparing to ship to shipped in 7 hours last night. I'll get it Tuesday, 9/24. WAY ahead of when I was supposed to get it via standard shipping (9/30-10/2). Your mileage may vary but it seems many are experiencing something similar to what I have.

I did that today, so it would be delivered a day later (on Thursday) when I am back in California and I can accept the package. It was worth $5 to not worry about a Gold iPhone on my porch all day until my husband got home from work. I noticed that picking up at a UPS store or delivering to a different address was an option.

I don't think that paying for expedited shipping like I did has made any difference to those of us in the first batch (1-3 days). I don't care. I am relieved that I will have it before going to Europe for a month on Oct. 3rd!

Whats weird to me is my wife and I ordered at 3:03am EST and hers shipped. Mine is still Preparing to Ship..

The plan was to take off to get both phones but I guess she might have to wait now. lol

Hers will be here Tuesday and mine maybe Wednesday?

I tired changing the destination through the apple site it says it can't be changed from the billing address.

I placed my order & received confirmation at 3:31am. It had said order would arrive Oct. 8th-11th. (7th-10th for an extra $10.)

Now all it says is "will be shipped in October" w/ no estimates.

So...yeah.

Ordered @ 12:02am 64gb Space Gray AT&T, just changed (7 pm-ish 9-21-13) from processing to preparing for shipment, 2nd one appx 5 mins later still shows preparing for shipment.
Update: 2nd one changed to preparing for shipment about 7:30pm pacific.

Just notified 2nd one shipped, 1st one still preparing?
