We need to talk about this room.
I mean this non-snarkily but you must be new here. Welcome! (There is also still 2 usb-c ports that can be used to charge, the magsafe is just a bonus)Did I see that they went back to Magsafe? WTF?!
Do they mean only one 6K display? Could someone plug in 2 1080p displays? If not, very stupid. So both new M2 13" MacBooks are limited to 1 external display... that really sucks. I was thinking insta-buy, but maybe not now.
The 13" Pro does seem oddly positioned. I guess they are keeping it to maintain a price point without making a big investment. Perhaps in a year or two, they will drop the price of the "new" Air (or inflation makes $1199 the new $999) and retire both the older design MacBook Air and 13" Pro. What's interesting is that with the 10-core GPU, the MacBook Air is priced identically to the 13" Pro.Keeping the M1 Air old design and the 13" MBP mega old design around is just so many SKUs of really overlapping products.
More power to ya but just FYI for those of us in the cheap seats, $1500 is objectively a pretty large amount of money for most people.Sure. It is lighter than the current M1 MBA with a slightly larger display. I love the new Midnight color. I don't know about you but $1500 isn't a lot of money for me. And I can spend the effort to sell my M1 MBA and cut the cost down to about 1200-1300 if I want. I have no use for the Pro-Res encoder/decoder though. I'd rather have gotten a second external display instead but whatever. That is pretty minor to me since I only use one external 4K display right now anyway.
I think the old M1 design might have been £949 (for now still the £949 at John Lewis and Curry’s), so a price increase of £50 for an OLD model. Thanks, Apple 🙄£250 price bump in the UK for the M2, with a M1 in the old design at the old price point of £999 still available. Ouch.
As the only person who likes the touchbar, I really wanted to get a 13" M2 but the rest of it is so underwhelming. The 13" M2 MBP still has touchbar, and it lacks a MagSafe connector. In short, it looks like they still have NOT done a redesign on that model. Apple: if touchbar is dead, stop putting it on #!$$ new products.
It is.. That's Apple's strategy to egg you towards the M1 Pro (14" probably) instead..24gb is such a weird spec, never seen it in any previous laptop, it is a hardware limitation such as triple channel or apple don't want the m2 to get into the m1 pro territory.
Nah, it was RRP £999, but a few retailers had been selling it discounted for a while now.I think the old M1 design might have been £949 (for now still the £949 at John Lewis and Curry’s), so a price increase of £50 for an OLD model. 🙄
She is playing the piano with one hand, standing, holding a $1,200 computer in the other hand, with nowhere in sight to lay down the computer. Also wallpaper is cracked and appears to be held in with screws (?). Exterior 2-gang J-Box, Mid-20th century electric heater and the most disgusting air conditioner I have ever seen. People living in cities probably pay $3,000 a month for this. Reminds me of the worst college dorm i've stayed in.
Ah right, fair enough.Nah, it was RRP £999, but a few retailers had been selling it discounted for a while now.
Apparently Apple values having a magsafe charger the same as having a touch bar. What's interesting is that the 13" M2 MacBook Pro is priced identically with the M2 Air with the 10-core GPU.
I really don't pay a lot of attention here. But, good to know that USB-C still works too.I mean this non-snarkily but you must be new here. Welcome! (There is also still 2 usb-c ports that can be used to charge, the magsafe is just a bonus)
24 GB/1 TB, Midnight, 8-core CPU, 10-core GPU. Gimme. Apple will give me a paltry $540 for my current 16 GB/1 TB M1 MBA but I will probably still take it.
€1625 in EU for base model with 8GB RAM and 8 core GPU 🤣
They need to reserve some features to their ”Pro“ line up. My 16 M1 Pro also unlocks more scaling options for my 34 inch 5K2K display, something I imagine this new M2 MBA is not capable of.Where did you find this spec?
Dealbreaker imho.
