My motivation is basically to see how many of the rumors were true. But i find myself getting so annoyed at Apples fluff, making tiny improvements seem like monumental innovations... im sure many average consumers fall for that crap.... but people in the tech world and on these forums just roll their eyes lol.
Trust me, though. You're going to love it! 🤣

Same. But it beats online 'training' that I'm stuck with.
I’ll be watching during a ketamine treatment (for treatment resistant depression, I’ve been doing it for 5.5 years, complete remission of my symptoms!)

Ready to recline back and lift my feet and listen to Tim Apple while I’m high as a kite 🪁

I think it's the other way around. The "average consumer" doesn't fall for the crap, they just don't care either way. Marketing is just marketing, and the average consumer just wants a phone or headphones or a watch.

It's the "tech world" that reacts, not the average consumer. And the tech world reacts usually with hundreds of thousands of words of OUTRAGE!!! and DISGUST!!! (and less frequently but sometimes with WORSHIP!!!) Which translates into lots of video and page views, so the videomakers and forum websites get more ad revenue.

And the world keeps turning.

Apple are good at getting people talking about Apple. And they don't even have to pay for it.

The "enthusiast community" will do it for free. Hell, they might even pay to do it, and that's an extra revenue stream right there.

What would be funny would be if, one year, Apple trolls the leakers and "community" and doesn't release anything that remotely matches the leaks and rumors.

I hope there’s something the leaks didn’t know because then it will be exciting, or it will just be the leaks and some won’t happen

The web may be dying but at least we still have Apple announcements on Macrumors for us to gather around.
The entire world is dying, my friend… but yes, we have a nice little bonfire going here to bring us together 🔥🪵

(…some would argue it’s a dumpster fire)

Yep, I think the leaks are coming too fast and furious in the past couple of years, it takes the enjoyment and suspense out of the events.

It makes the event feel like a bingo card, just ticking off which rumors were accurate.

It also means Apple have very little motivation to make the events more interesting - which means they're lackluster. Why put a massive amount of work into an event when the contents have been already leaked? Comedy segments aren't enough to carry it.

Lots of leaks push Apple to move towards press releases rather than events. "Just give them the spec sheet."

As a kid, I was obsessed with finding out where my parents had hidden the "surprise" Christmas presents. As an adult, I'm the opposite, I want it to be a surprise on Christmas morning.

Yet you're here posting about the apple event. Are you posting about the TCL NxtPaper 60 Ultra anywhere else?
No, after 30 years of being excited about Apple the joy of looking forward to an Apple event just seems to be diminishing. The NxtPaper just seems interesting for the new screen technology.
