Odd, I have a fan discount and I got through the initial verification process up to the reservation part. I just can't login to the link apple provides to complete the order. Can't connect to server or something.
 
If I go to the ATT store in the morning can they preorder this for me? I don't think I will be able to get through either site because of the P1234 error.
 
^ That link does the same thing. Says type in your phone number, zip, SS.

Do that and then it says I must log on to check for my upgrade because express store does not currently support your device type (iPhone)

then AT&T won't let me log on to my account for some unknown reason?

so im stonewalled...did this not happen to you?
 
Only hope is App Store app or possibly Apple's full site. Can't ship properly with ATT.

App store erroring on verifying account, full site not passing eligibility (it did once, but froze...)

Here is what Apple should do (coming from a developer and former software QA manager):

When someone clicks Pre-order, they should put that person in a "line" and give them a number. Many online sites do this with Live Chat. If someone closes their browser while in line, it lets the next person take the spot. It would say something like:

"You are #33 in line to preorder the iPhone"

and it would update dynamically as the queue is cleared. Let 20 people pre-order at a time with a 5 minute countdown timer (like Ticketmaster.com does for tickets that you pick a Row/Seat for)

"You have 4:23 left to complete your order"

Once the clock counts down or a checkout is completed, it lets the next person in line go.

EASY. ORDERLY. Gives people an idea on wait time and a sense of stability in what is currently a chaotic system.

Apple are you listening????
 
att has alot of balls texting me "checkout the new device on the web LOLOL" while their freaking site isn't working.
 
Finally got mine through the Apple Store.


MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOUR CART WHEN IT ERRORS OUT. YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE ELIGIBILITY CHECK AGAIN!!!

Funny story, me being so frustrated about this I decided to call Apple a 2nd time to try to order via the phone. Same result as the first time. Automated line said we're too busy to help you buy an iPhone at this time.

So I called back and the first prompt like the other times says "I'm able to interpret complete sentences. Please ask me what you need help with.".

So I said "fu#k yourself".

The automated response was "I'm sorry your dissatisfied with our service. Let me try and help you with your issue.". Cracked me up. It didn't help, just routed me to the same message about we're too busy to help you right now.
 
not sure if its just a family plan issue. but this is ridiculous. almost 2 hours ive been trying.. trying to give them $300... somethings wrong with me.. continuosly trying to spend $300 and they wont take it.
 
Weren't orders for the last iPhone being shipped out on launch even if they were ordered a couple days after preordering began?

So I got through the whole process on AT&T.com, and I got an order conformation number. I haven't recieved an email, and I have a $1 pending charge on my credit card. What the heck does this mean???
 
f this. i'm going to bed. 2 hours is long enough for me to waste on this nonsense. you'd think I was standing in line for an organ transplant.
 
I for the life of me can't get through. I've been at it for about an hour now and I can't get past the AT&T verification page.
