Apple Store is down!

damn att and apple had to create a new line but finally got through.....now i have the headache of combning the lines when the phone comes.........grumble
 
AT&T finally worked for me ... 32GB black... have to ship it home which could make for a "work from home" situation

Now to get to bed ... oh wait ... I have to be up in 9 minutes and I've been up since 2:50AM

Success. Order accepted through ATT site. My tribute to Steve Jobs also complete. Now the iPhone 4"S" has meaning.

I wish I could. But seeing as how I have to be at work bright and early to take pre-orders for everyone else for the very same phone I'm trying to get and that this is pretty much my only chance I'll have time to get it....I think a bit of aggravation is due.

Wonder if they're haulting orders to give these broken AT&T accounts a fair chance.
 
SOMETHING IS OBVIOUSLY WRONG with certain members here.

me included. We keep getting the same notice when trying to check our eligibility. others are flying through this process. AT&T and APPLE won't let me past the eligibility...so we all must have some common element that is messing up right now. I do have a FAN discount being a grad student, maybe this is it?

Ive been on hold for 30 minutes to try and figure this out, I didn't stay up till 5AM for no reason....

This is precisely what happened when my wife's first attempt timed out. She got an email telling her to try again when AT&T is working, guaranteeing her a launch phone as long as she completes by Oct 8 (Sat).
 
About an hour ago, I actually made it through to confirming texting plan and data plan, and then it dumped me out.

This sucks hard.

I used the link and it asked me for info to verify the account (number, zip, and SS). Then I just picked the phone and hit go. Next page was an extras I could buy. Last page was order check out for me to put in my card number. It didn't ask for my address though so I'd assume its based upon the one tied to my account. I hit submit and got an order number.

I did this for both my wife and I. We both currently have the iPhone 4 & iPhone 3G and are eligible for upgrades.
 
Apple has a little notice on the eligibility page:

"We are currently experiencing high volumes of iPhone orders and may require up to 1 minutes to access your AT&T account information. In order to maintain the priority of your order, please remain on this page."

At least something different over the last 25 minutes...
 
AT&T Inventory

How likely is it that if you complete an order from AT&T that it will actually ship on the date that is reported? Is it possible that all orders made via the Apple store will have greatier priority over pre-orders made through AT&T or any other carrier for that matter?

Sprint says it will arrive either on Friday or Saturday. I stayed up late to get my order in early, so I expect to get it on Friday.
 
Fellow FAN account holders, I think it's safe for us to go to bed now seeing as we've been screwed hard tonight.

I wouldn't be surprised if 80% of the people still on this thread are FAN account holders like me hitting ctrl+r hoping for that glimmer of hope.

Better luck tomorrow guys. 3:44am here in Chicago. I'm off to bed.
