I successfully preordered the 16GB 4S on Sprint's website, I had to update my plan to include data which took awhile since the settings page kept crashing but it finally worked. Kinda wanted to preorder through the Apple store but it took too long for them to see the changes I made to my plan, and now it seems they have stopped taking preorders altogether so I guess it doesn't matter. :p
 
there is no way this ran off this bad. AT&T had had the iPhone for 4 years and they still can't get pre order day right.

APPLE's problem is most likely AT&T having this FAN problem. I bet that is why i am getting screwed along with all the other FAN people.

I got through on the apple site with a FAN number to checkout 3 times and then got booted by the system.

So from what others are saying, they aren't out of iPhone, but are readjusting system to better handle the overload?
 
Just placed my order via AT&T's website.
I tried logging into my account at first, but that, as many of us now know, doesn't work.
If you don't trust my link, google, bing, yahoo, or however you search, for AT&T's main website.
Click the "preorder now" for the iPhone 4S.
You'll be immediately prompted to provide your account info, then you can go from there.

It worked for me. I hope it works for the rest of ya'z.:apple:
 
anyone that got their order thru to att how long did it take to get a confirmation email? I ordered about 15 minutes ago and still nothing.....I took a screen shot of the confirmation page lol.....still waiting on the email.

I got the confirmation email 12:58AM PDT, literally minutes after I ordered.
 
ATT Site Help!

I've tried following everyone's instructions for "2 minute ordering" on AT&T's site, however, I keep getting the following error:

There was a problem with your request.
P1234: We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are unable to support this request online. Please contact Premier Support at 1-866-499-8008 Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern Time for assistance with your request. Please reference Error P1234 if you speak to a representative about this error.

I'd be slightly less pissed about this if I didn't stay up 8 ***** hours later than I wanted to. Now I'm going to end up crashing, missing an appointment, and probably being stuck waiting a couple weeks longer for the phone.

Same. I didn't stay up, but I woke up hours early, and will be tired all day tomorrow.

Att.com best option now...got a 32gb in white.
log in to OLAM like checking minutes or whatever, scroll down to the iphone 4s box, click check upgrade options, select your number, let it do its thing, check mark apple phones, iphone 4s is there, add data plan and messaging, and check out.

This worked for me and I have a FAN account.
 
Well, we just crashed AT&Ts servers... I guess now we're about 3 hours away from crashing their customer service phone lines.
 
Ha - they just threw in the towel and gave up. On my last try I got to a page that said they had an iPhone for me, they would send me a confirmation email and let me know once they were able to verify eligibility and when it was time to return to complete the order. Then it just crashed out and said it was unable to process the transaction at this time. I suspect that, as with the launch of the 4, AT&T is not able to keep up with verifying upgrade eligibility so the whole thing has come to a screeching halt.
