OK, they admit not connecting with AT&T, so they give you a reservation number to return later.

the att business site is up again, that's why its working. I can order through att now but have a reservation at apple, what should I do?

I have a FAN account and was finally able to order through ATT? I wanted to go through apple but gave up after about 20 tries. Tried only 5 times with ATT.
 
Yahoo! Just got through on AT&T's site finally. I am a FAN account person. One Black 64GB 4S on the way (iPhone 4 upgrade).

Does anyone with the $5 200 text messaging plan from AT&T have trouble retaining that plan with the 4S?

I think (not sure) that the selection page is for adding new features (and for whatever reason they renamed the data plan, probably to be confusing). I just didn't choose anything for messaging, and assume my prior messaging plan will remain.
 
after many many attempts on the mobile app and the website (apple and att) I finally got through on apple.com. I have a fan discount fyi. I got a message saying i would get an email to confirm my plan. I am a little confused bc one of the times i got partially through i was able to select a plan... this time i didn't get that. It also appears as if it will ship to me, i didn't get an in store pick up option. I am a little confused...
 
I wouldn't worry about it for now, just try to get the order processed and then call AT&T later and have them correct your plan.
I would be careful with this actually. I used to run an att store here in New Orleans and every new generation of Software they come out with to handle customer accounts is prettier/more streamlined/ and faster for new associates to be trained on, but it takes a lot of the manual changes out. I have seen cases where someone working for ATT screwed up and changed a feature that a customer deserved/was grandfathered into, but once that feature code was taken off there account the option to add it back was gone. Short of a miracle, theres no way to add it back. I got tired of having to explain to people that they were screwed , we knew it was wrong, but there was no remedy.

Tried one more time and got the reservation thing to actually go through finally. So I am wondering when they are going to let me come back and finish my order. It will not be a happy time if they let us wait until things cool down, say in a week or so.
 
FINALLY!!
After I thought about giving up of 1hr & 50mins, I placed my order through the Apple Store for my Black 16GB with crappy AT&T... $208.95 I'm STOKED. Only a week!!! Now, I can finally go to bed & get up in 2 hours.

Also, I couldn't get the apple store reservation page to work correctly in...safari. The buttons weren't selectable. Had to switch to chrome.
 
Is anyone that ordered through the Verizon site still up? if so, have you received some sort of email yet? my order went through and I have an order number that shows up if I check my order status, but have yet to receive any type of receipt...

If it lets you continue without making a selection than thats by far the best thing to do, have no doubt, they will take your features off and say its your fault nothing can be done. Thanks for posting that it allowed you to continue without opting for a selection this will hopefully save a lot of people headaches.
