What's so bad about buffalo? Is the eastview mall that giant mall that they just like tripled it's size?

I visited Buffalo this week.

Buffalo is stunning - what a complete dump. What is the point of Buffalo being there ( apart from the Canadian Consulate, of course! ) !?? Waste of space.

The shopping mall outside of Buffalo is great - that apple store is good. No 1Gig shuffles though :-(

Ouch- Sad but true. That's why I want to go to Arizona State u...far far away. The suburbs aren't bad though, but buffalo as a city is a wasteland that died 90 years ago.

ifoAppleStore has added four new Apple Stores to its growing list of rumored or confirmed upcoming store locations:
Heh. A Web site dedicated to news and information about Apple retail stores. What a great time to be alive. ;)

On the bright side, though, it looks like they may be opening a store later this year in Nashville, which is actually close enough for me to visit. And does anyone know when the midtown NYC store might open?

There are four upcoming Florida stores - Miami Beach, Jacksonville, Palm Beach Gardens, and the Orlando store.
Yes, you are correct and I missed that. I searched their list for "Florida" but they abbreviated it to "Fla." Oops!

Thanks for the the list you posted here and there. You were credited under the story on the front page.

Great.....well, kinda. Apple: how about some more Apple stores in California? Say, northern California (farther north than San Francisco, which is falsely considered to be "northern" even though it's more central). Ukiah, perhaps? I'd even settle for southern Oregon. Just something more northern!

Personally, I think the Flatiron idea, if it's true, is a dick move by Apple--I agree, it will hurt Tekserve. Tekserve is a great place, which offers diversity to the otherwise whitebread line of stores offered by Apple. Tekserve's service is better, and they seem to cultivate their employees; you actually get better, more pationate replies from them, then the just-been-hired Apple store folk.

Tekserve helps apple in the long run, why starve them out, even if their only motive is the chic-visibility of Flatiron?

Then agian, it could just be a rumor...

Need one in DC proper, man. Dupont Circle would be good. Then I can head over to Tryst afterwards in Adams Morgan :)

Yeah, that'd be nice. I'm tired of going into Virginia to get to an Apple Store. A store in Dupont Circle would definitely benefit from the foot traffic.

Am I wrong for wanting to piss on every new Apple Store that comes up this year?!?
Dozens of new stores this year and Apple is still avoiding the New Orleans and Baton Rouge area like its the Bubonic Plague. New Orleans is like in the top 5. Why Apple, WHY?!?!

Yes Rochester!!!

Although, My school already has its own mini apple store, complete with student discounts :-D

Personally, I think that opening a third NYC store in the Flatiron area would be a mistake. First because it just seems unecessary with other Apple stores 30 blocks north and south. But also, it would only be about a block and a half away from TekServe, which is probably the best Apple resource in the city. This would really hurt them, and there just isn't the need.

On a side note, I think the Flatiron building itself would be too small for a typical Apple store. Maybe a mini store.

my 2 cents, anyway.

It looks like it will only be a mini store. IfoAppleStore says that it's only a 2,000 sq. ft. property. Only a mini store could fit in that.

http://www.ifoapplestore.com/ Check the date under 2/24/2005.

Also, on the issue of Tekserve, I hope that both Apple Store Flatiron (can we call it that?) as well as Tekserve will both be able to co-exist harmoniously. Both stores are great and I think that it would be a shame to see either one have problems.

TekServe can survive...

...I hope.

Most Manhattanite Mac users know that their service is legendary. I never thought they were a great place to shop, but if my Mac was sick, they were the best docs in town.

I imagine they'll continue to make their bread and butter through repairs and upgrades - plus their high-end video/design clients will continue to buy from them because their BTO packages are much cheaper.

It was kinda crappy for Apple to so obviously invade the turf of one of their most beloved resellers. There are a lot of other places Apple could have gone if they wanted another store in the city.

Ah, I love living in the heart of the sprawl, less than a 5 minute drive from the Towson store (but, I have to put up with Towson Town Center... Blech!)

Where are the two Bethesda stores? Anyone know?

Apple is really shooting themselves in the foot with these apple stores.
If they open any more stores they might go bankrupt.
Also, the iPod really has some dismal sales especially the iPod Shuffle, not one has been sold. Poor Apple.

* Shibuya, Tokyo, 3.5 miles from the existing Tokyo store in Ginza, making it the fourth Apple Store in Japan. The other cities with Apple Stores are Nagoya and Osaka.
Nice to see another store.

Shibuya is an area for young folks to gather, party, etc. However, the distance between Shibya and Ginza is minimal via subway.

I would think a small Apple store in another city such as Sapporo, Hiroshima, or Naha, would be more useful at this time.

I think that it was a misspell because ive herd of them opening a 20000 sq ft store in that location but i could be wrong

How about a store in Fargo, ND? The metro area is growing rapidly. The nearest store is in the Twin Cities, 4 hours away.

The Fargo, ND/Moorhead, MN area has three universities and a growing tech field. The West Acres Mall is always busy as well. It is the largest mall between Seattle and Minneapolis (following I94).

While I live in NYC now, I grew up in Healdsburg. The Santa Rosa mini store is likely the best nor Cal is going to get for quite some time. I don't think Ukiah is a big enough market and there's not much in terms of a concentrated population between there and Eureka.

Go Annapolis! :)

I've always said they should put one in that mall. It's up to their standards. It's at least as good as Tyson's Corner where they have one now. Good times. I used to live at Regatta Bay, walkable distance from the mall, then on S. Cherry Grove Av. Now, it's Bowie. But Annapolis is still only about 9 miles away, compared to the ~1 hour it takes to get to the Apple store Clarendon.
