Also what is the going rate for an apple studio display with adjustable height? I’m wanting to get the one that is VESA comparable rather than on a stand.
Refurb prices currently: VESA $1359, Tilt/Height $1,699 (both for glossy)

The VESA model is the same price as the base model.

Any dual Studio Display owners here that have both monitors on a visa mount and want to share pictures of their setup?
Sorry about the low-light wide-angle distortion. I took the picture on my phone and was sitting in a close position that required the wide-angle lens. But you get the gist. Two ASDs VESA models each on an Amazon Basics arm.

Sure. This is the Ergotron HX, about 30 cm of height adjustment and of course also tilt, pan and rotate.

The VESA option is just that, some screw holes on the back, nothing else. You'll have to add a stand with whatever adjustments you want yourself, there is no Apple stand that attaches to a VESA interface.

I haven't seen many available used, but there are some refurbs for $1359.

Wonder if this means refresh or stock clear out. Does Apple ever price match Amazon/Costco licensed resale?
I wouldn't read much in to it. Amazon and Best Buy have sales on Apple stuff fairly frequently w/o it being tied to any sort of product launch or change.

Example: A few weeks ago I bought a new M2 MBA at BBY for less than an Apple refurb would have cost. Not expecting any immediate refresh to the MBA. Also pretty deep discounts a little less than a year after the 2020 MBP launched - but well before the M2 update. Probably just excess stock they wanted to move.

I agree that the price reduction is to could be to clear excess inventory. No Mac Mini M2/M2 Pro Q4 2022 release likely affected Studio Display purchases also during the Christmas shopping season resulting in bloated display inventories.

Then again, maybe Apple is just trying to increase sales during a slow month. No one knows except Apple.

I experienced a glitch yesterday. The ASD was flickering extremely fast and the right part of the screen showed a band of static. This was while the M1 Mac mini was inactive and I was away from the screen (in screensaver mode). After a few reboots and unplugging the Thunderbolt 4 cable (supplied by Apple with the ASD) the problem has not occurred again. Do you think it is due to a faulty cable connection? Both devices have the latest software. (the photo is a still of the flickering screen. I should have filmed it)

That looks weird. I have it connected to the 16" M1 Max MacBook Pro and this has never happened to me.

Are you still in your return period? If yes, exchange it for a new one just to be sure.

Definitely weird - I've had mine for months and have never seen anything like that. (Or any glitch for that matter).

What type of cable are you using?

The thunderbolt cable that came with the display. I contacted Support, but they can't do anything (at least until the defect reappears).

Hmm. Seems unlikely that the cable would be at fault I guess. I think it was smart to report the issue. Hopefully means that if it reoccurs even after the warranty period expires, they will do something about it.

Well, the Finder menus, icons and clock are still visible, so it's not like likely a screen defect, is it possible you had an application window open that might have experienced some sort of screen refresh problem?

I ordered from Costco last night (Wed.) and I just got UPS tracking for delivery on Sat! SOOO STOKED!

Just picked up the last ASD from Costco locally for $1299.

So far so good.

2 beginner questions I could not find on google.

Where do I find firmware version of Display in 13.2 Ventura?
Where do I verify the 1 year applecare coverage since I got from Costco.....

There are no software updates so I am assuming this has the latest

Thanks!

For firmware: Apple > About this Mac > More Info > System Report > Graphics/Displays

or: spotlight search "system information" > Graphics/Displays

Current version is 15.5
