I‘m using the ASD in full tilt and without Center Stage only half my face is visible, so for me activating that is a must (luckily it works with all the video conferencing tools I use, namely MS Teams & Google Meet).

It‘s a pity there seem to be no options to adjust the webcam beyond „Center Stage on/off“, but then again it‘s Apple – glad their solution works for me.
How do you activate Center Stage for use in Teams? When I'm in Teams with the camera active, the video effects only shows "Portrait" as an option.

Hm, I don‘t have a Mac supporting Portrait, so it looks a bit different for me (there‘s just the Center Stage option). May I ask which macOS version you are on? I only got that setting in the control center once I updated to 12.3.

Just saw your other post: Yes, Center Stage not only moves to the sides but it also brings you into frame along the vertical axis.

The camera on the Studio Display seems to be angled up way more than any of my previous iMacs. I just had my first Teams call using the Studio Display this morning, and had to tilt the screen down really far to not have my head off the bottom of the frame. Has anyone else experienced something similar?
Exactly this. Apple needs to software-fix the position. It is really annoying, especially when combined with the terrible webcam quality.

Ah, that probably explains it! I'm still on macOS Monterey 12.2.1. Our IT blocks updates OS updates, unfortunately. :(

Have you experienced video freezing while using ASD with Teams? I was having freezing during Teams calls with a Philips monitor (which also had a built-in camera) and assumed it was the monitor's camera (since it was happening in both Teams and Zoom), which is one of the reasons why I switched to ASD. Today, I had one episode of freezing during a Teams call using the ASD (didn't have any using my M1 MBA while waiting for my ASD) which makes me wonder what is causing it since I guess it wasn't just the Philips monitor.

Ordered the 14th of March at Singapore.

I ordered the same specs (nano / height adjustable) on March 8 -- minutes after ordering opened up. My original date (March 31) was pushed out two weeks to April 15. Five days ago it went to "preparing to ship" and it has stubbornly remained there since then. Since this is an uncommon (and expensive) version, I'm wondering if they wait for a certain number of orders before scheduling a production run.

From and to where did you order?

From??

I ordered on Apple's online store to be delivered to California, US.
Most of people in this thread are from the US. I'm located to Singapore and about receiving faster the ASD, it doesn't seem to be an advantage to be located closer to China than the US...

I‘m assuming you mean your own video stream was frozen on your display (so not due to network issues) – haven‘t noticed that yet in Teams (neither with the MBP built-in cam, nor the ASD one).

Correct, my own video was frozen both on my display and as seen by others I was on the call with on their displays while their stream on my display was normal (confirming not a network issue)

Does PhotoBooth have Center Stage as an option?

The wide angle lens makes the focus way too high compared to old iMacs.
Nope, strangely no Center Stage for Photo Booth as of macOS 12.3.1.

I‘ve used Center Stage successfully for FaceTime, Teams & Google Meet though (macOS 12.3 or above required).

Just had a meeting with the ASD webcam.

Participant: Wow, you have great camera.
Me: What?
Participant: Yeah, looking very good and sharp.
Me: Really? I thought it's bad.
Similar thing here, though on the other end: I perceive my own camera quality as rather bad (I‘m aware I have tough lighting conditions here sitting in a „darker“ corner with big windows in my back), but the image quality of a co-worker‘s ASD (lighting from the side) was best of the group in that Teams call (their ASD mic’s audio was surprisingly underwhelming though).

Haha, I've had this a few times as well, my lighting situation in my office is really good but did make me smile :)

My only issue with the webcam is that at appropriate viewing height, the webcam will be looking down my forehead, which is a weird angle. I will need to put the video call window close to the webcam so I look like directly looking at it. but it will be a bit too high.

With troubles connecting my ancient 27” Apple Cinema Display to a recently acquired AS unit (Apple TB2-TB4 adapter does not work for my Mini DisplayPort monitor) I broke down and ordered the ASD yesterday. Glossy, hight adjustable. Delivery listed for second weed in June.

Ordered mine non tilt model at the weekend from John Lewis, arrives tomorrow. Always go with John Lewis now as you get 2 year guarantee

Part of me is looking forward but some reviews had put me off.

The main reasons I decided on it are a) its Apple and SHOULD work with my apple devices (mac mini, mbp and ipad pro) b) it has speakers (my current 4k LG doesnt) and so cant get audio from mini and c) I am hoping it will work better with my homepod setup

Only concern is connecting HDMI to it, goiing to try the Club 3D adaptor see how that works, also need to see if there is a splliter out there that will work

Couple of questions i still have
1) Will the charging allow the replacing the Mac Mini power source ? I am guessing no
2) What specifically is the need for 3 usb ports ? i.e what will they be used for
3) How would networking with it work?

Any help appreciated
