Considering getting a second one and VESA mounting them

When Center Stage is off, my friend's chin is cut off. He needs to have it on all the time in order to have proper framing.

Hopefully, Apple can fix this.
Not sure I understand your comment about the chin. Tell your friend to tilt the monitor down until he is framed properly.

Uh if he does that, the screen is at the wrong angle. This was not a problem with his iMac, and he is not the only person with this problem. The problem is specifically because the camera default has not been programmed properly and thus it requires Center Stage to be active in order to correct the problem.

I have to tilt my monitor down, which is not the correct viewing angle. Apple needs to follow the lead of Logitech and develop settings to allow us to manually adjust the camera. The ability is there. Logitune works well for Logitech, and being able to zoom in/out and adjust the angle of the camera would be really nice.

It's really sad that this nice $1500 display requires me to use a Logitech 4k camera to get a picture during videochat that doesn't include my entire office and have me zoomed out as if I'm a half mile away.

The power cable is not removable - who cares!?

I care.

I route all my cables through a wall, and a CEE 7/7 connector won't fit through the channel. There are a few options. I could pull an extension cable through the wall, and coil the Studio Display and hang it off the back of the display, which would be ... inelegant. What I'll probably end up doing if I decide to keep the display is to simply lop the connector off and reconnect it on the other side, which ... isn't great.

Also, the lack of a removable and replaceable cable presents a challenge if moving the display to a location with a different electrical connection standard.

Of course both of these scenarios are edge cases as far as Apple is concerned, but considering there is no lack of space inside the display and it is also deep enough to easily accommodate a standard connector I find this design choice really odd.

Besides, some people just prefer all their cables to be matching in color or texture, I don't think it is unreasonable to expect to be able to achieve this.

Hi, lovely setup and thanks for your thoughts! Wondering if you could help me as I'm quite tempted to buy a new MacBook Pro 14/16 and Studio Display, but worried about the Studio Display not stacking up to the Mini LED screens. Just wondering when you take a photo on your iPhone 13 Pro, and look at the same photo on your iPhone, Studio Display and MacBook Air, how does that same photo compare with each screen?

Only reason I'm worried is I looked at the exact same photo on an iPhone 11 (colour range of millions of colours like your MacBook Air), and a 12 Pro Max (1 Billion colours like the Studio Display), and the iPhone 11 looked noticeably washed out and lacking in colour. Just wondering if you feel like your getting the same colour range from your iPhone and Studio Display? I accept that it be the exact same with the brighter and darker pixels, but would love to know what you think.
I was lucky enough to go into a store that had a Studio Display hooked up to a 16 inch MacBook Pro, so I could look at both side by side. The Studio Display looked great, colour from both seemed about the same to me, if there was any difference, I couldn't see it. I think I could see some difference with HDR content with some areas being brighter, but not anything that was a big difference to my eyes. Now it's time to start thinking about what I actually want to do here...

Ordered my pair of ASDs Standard Glass VESA Mount on April 9th from Best Buy with store pickup for April 20th and they came 1 day earlier so today went to the store and picked them up. They are up and running already. Firmware update went smooth on both displays at the same time. No yellow tint and they look AMAZING!!! I'm super happy now with my setup and have ZERO regrets going from a pair of 32" LG 32UN880-B to a pair of 27" ASDs. The sharpness and the colors are totally worthy the premium price. Already cancelled my order from Apple placed on march 31st and scheduled for May 27 - June 13.

Oh wow, what a cool setup of a horizontal and vertical one.

Quick question: where I can find the ASD Wallpaper? I thought it would show up in my Desktop Wallpapers as soon I have installed the ASDs but they are not in there.

Do you have a studio display? Center stage does not always seek the best framing.

If anything, Center stage also has the "bonus" of being very distracting in business settings, making idiosyncratic unnecessary moves, and exposing the ultra low quality and graininess of the camera.
I do. I love the display. Camera seems below iPhone but better than most other webcams.

I use it hours every day for Teams meetings. Not sure if it is distracting in business. Have zero comments on the movements so far.

It’s good, really really good.

Expensive, yes.

Just plug and play. Glad to be back on 5k, I really missed this from my old iMac.

I do graphic design and having same color between the display and the Mbp is great. Also adjusting brightness from the keyboard again!

I just noticed that if the Studio Display is connected through the Thunderbolt port of a CalDigit TS3+ dock the keyboard brightness buttons stop working. Has anyone else seen this, or is there perhaps some issue with my setup?

I use the dock with the screen. And I have an external keyboard setup, the external keyboard controls the ASD and the keyboard on my MBP controls the MBP screen.

If you want to control ASD with your MBP keyboard, try hold control + brightness up or down
