I use the dock with the screen. And I have an external keyboard setup, the external keyboard controls the ASD and the keyboard on my MBP controls the MBP screen.

If you want to control ASD with your MBP keyboard, try hold control + brightness up or down
Sorry, I see now I left important information out.

My MacBook is clamshelled.

I have a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID connected directly to the Studio Display through a Lightning to USB-C cable.

When the MacBook is connected directly to the Studio Display with a Thunderbolt cable the brightness control work as expected.

If I connect a CalDigit TS3+ Thunderbolt dock between the MacBook and the Studio Display the brightness control of the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID (which is still connected directly to one of the display's USB-C ports) stops working.

Hi everyone!

I just bought the SD and I wanted to know if some people got the same issue as I : everything is a bit too tiny (font, icons, etc.) with the default resolution (2560*1440). When I put the resolution into 2048*1152, it is better but, unfortunately, the image quality is not as great as it is with the other resolution (which make perfect sense, right ?).

So, I was wondering if, even if it seems not possible, there were a solution to overcome this "problem" ?
I was also wondering, for those who got it, if the iMac M1, who is suppose to have the same amount of ppp, have the same problem or not ?

Bought the SD yesterday and kinda get used to it when I woke up this morning but it still bother me a little (maybe it won't at all tomorrow, let's hope, who knows ?).
I precise that the screen go with a M1 mini.

I hope that I was clear enough and I thank you in advance for your answers.

I don’t have this problem, though I use a Keychron keyboard. Have you tried control brightness does that work?

Mine arrived today!!! Might need to pickup a 3rd once I get my new desk 😬

Just got my ASD today, looks like I got a defective unit:(
It has a yellow tint screen compare to my LG ultrafine 4K, and the LG is a lot brighter than the ASD at maximum brightness level. Also, just by sitting normally in front of ASD, I can hear the fan spinning in a quite noisy environment.

That’s unfortunate ? How’s the screen uniformity? Hopefully you can exchange.

Is this with true tone on ?

I'm using ASD with my old LG ultra fine 4K side by side. It's so yellow-ish with True Tone on or off. At the beginning I even tried to google how to enable True Tone for my LGs.
The pics shows both monitor showing white screen with True Tone turned off:

I had the same issue, and got it exchanged. The new one still exhibit some yellowish tint compare to my MBP14, but much better than the first one

I think you've posted it here before... What type of light is that on top of your monitor? Does it attach to the monitor?

BenQ ScreenBar Halo. I just ordered a second one for the ASD that I have in portrait mode. That good is this monitor lamp.

Would a couple HomePod minis sound a lot better than using the speakers in the studio display?

It depends your needs. In my case I can't use neither the ASD speakers nor any small speakers as I need full range down to 16Hz for mixing, mastering and editing. That's why I have a pair of Dynaudio BM5 MKIII + a Rythmik Audio E22 subwoofer. But if it's only for non critical listening, then I guess the ASD speakers should be fine. Not so sure about the HomePod minis as I haven't listened to them yet.

does this light have a bright wall light? I hear that its the back wall light that prevents eye strain. I also see htere are other cheaper version of this on amazon. any input form your experience?

also I see you have a MacBook on the bottom of the light. does the light cause reflections on the MacBook screen?

For those who’s on a budget like myself, there is Xiaomi light bar that’s less than half the price of the Benq I’ve used this since lock down and it’s pretty good.

Just search your local eBay, or for anyone from the UK:

It does have a back light which is great.

The MBP was only to show that the colors and white match the ASDs. My laptops are on another desk next to my main desk.

In fact, this is really my home office/gym :)

but does the back light actually help a lot with eyestrain because I see there is a longer wait to order that model while the version without the blacklight is available now. Also looking at your photos, as I scrolled to the second photo I thought, "geek" and then I saw the 4th photo and thought, "wow badass." Additional thumbs up for the bumper weights.
