Camera works in PhotoBooth in both photo & video mode here (no Center Stage available though, so I only see the top half of my face). Also, audio in FaceTime works (seems the only way currently to test the different mic modes that are quite nice). Do you have the latest SW on both the connected Mac (12.3.1) & ASD itself (15.4)?
Yes. Both newest firmwares.

how do you use the top of the vertical display? looks like neck pain
My desk is a motorized IKEA Beckant sit/stand desk and I mostly use it in stand position which work really well with the portrait mode ASD. Zero neck pain even when in sitting position.

Using the Studio Display for a about a week now I have to say there is a lot to like. The top feature for me is having 600 Nits of brightness available for office work, as my eyesight isn't as good anymore, this helps a ton. Sharpness and build quality is top notch.

On the other hand I don't like the speakers at all. There is way too much bass which shows specifically in dialogue. As I watch a ton of Youtube videos this is a big disappointment for me.

One more thing I did notice when I compare watching Youtube on my MBP 16 (2019) vs. Studio Display. They seem not as smooth on the Studio Display, there is a bit of a choppiness, or is it just me?

Is it possible to use the Boom app to improve the sound?

Boom 2 and the current version Boom 3D is something I have always used with my Macs and connected Bose speakers. Night and day difference in sound quality.

I await my new studio, but my old mac late 2013 catalina doesn't work with Boom for the last year or so, i had to uninstall it, which was a pain to do.

Seems very cheap. Would it be best to get the USB version?

Bonus is the new studio weight is about half of a iMac unit, so bend shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah I am debating the HiRise pro or the curve rise as it will take up less space, current stand is 14cm high so too high
Have the curve riser isnt the best quality

did you guys get AppleCare for your display? If so, did you do it at the time of purchase?
Displays don't show up under my devices so can't do it online- wonder if I need to contact support.

I got it after but it wasn't easy as the ASD does not show up in your Apple products.

You have to go to go to this link:

https://mysupport.apple.com/add-coverage?productTypeId=PFC6004

In my case, that link did not work because my ASDs were purchased from Best Buy and I hadn't a valid purchase date so I had to go to this link first and add my purchase date:

After adding my purchase date, I was able to purchase AppleCare+ for my ASDs from the first link.

BenQ ScreenBar Halo. I just ordered a second one for the ASD that I have in portrait mode. That good is this monitor lamp.

I'm curious to see if both lamps will be connected to one of this wireless controller or if Benq pairs them individually in production. :)

They come individually paired from factory but you can pair them to a single wireless controller.

A standard IPS screen that is 5K. Nothing special about it and at least 50% overpriced. Cheap skates could not even give you an OLED panel nor 120hz.
