I'm there now on the third floor looking casual while I download the iPhone SDK on their internet. 45 mins for 1.25GB is very nice and very free.

It's dead-set f*cking packed in here.

I'm sitting up on the 3rd floor as well, waiting to speak to a genius about my touch. Great store - as a 5 year retail salesman for Harvey Norman I can see that these guys are doing everything right.

It's absolutely heaving in here!

I was at the store on Saturday. I noticed they put a barrier so people can't stand right underneath the glass stairs to the second level ... although that didn't stop a lot of people with cameras from taking some upskirt shots I'm sure :)

That's the thing - I was worried that people would be able to take upskirt shots but you really can't see through the stairs - all you see are people's feet when they walking.

There is a barrier but you can still take photos - the effect of the glass and aluminium is pretty cool.

I took this from where the barrier is:

Heh, i got one like that too, only the iPhone camera didn't make a great job of it. Still, it was capable of this other one of the Apple logo out front. It makes a great iPhone wallpaper. :)

Don't be silly. Women (especially those who wear skirts) don't go into computer stores ;).

Nice pics Chundles! I was surprised how many people were taking photos and no one minded.

.Andy - there was a stream of babes when I was there on Saturday. You have to go to the iPod stations on the 2nd level, they weren't hanging out beside the MacPros :)

I went to the Sydney Store yesterday and made a booking to see a Genius before I left home.

What an excellent service that genius Bar is, great FREE advice which helped solve a problem Iv'e had for about a year.

I was amazed at how many people there were taking photos, it seems to be a new Sydney Tourist attraction.

Just amazed at the number of hard core apple fans there are. I don't consider myself hard core by the way but there were people there who have dedicated their whole lives to apple. I even saw a guy with an apple tatoo!

Not knocking it but apple really does have a passionate following which should worry MS and all the other grey companies. Good to see

I find the Apple obsession really fascinating too. How does Apple - a multi-billion dollar corporate empire - manage to create such dedicated disciples? I realise that Steve Jobs' approach to things is very evangelical (yes, think preachers), but even before that started there were fanatics.

It would make a fascinating study for someone's PhD thesis, don't you think?
